Freeze Dryer Batch 101, Bi-planes, Harvests, PDC, Oil Pump, Tooth, Spuds, Grapes, Light - Friday
I kept them in the machine yesterday probably longer than needed but after the last batch I wanted to make sure the seeds weren't going to cause problems again.
Near 100 hours, they damn well better be done.
I was out in the garden a bit later ready to pic the squash when I heard the unmistakable sound of the bi-planes. Those old engines have a VERY distinct sound.
They fly formation often over the area and I think are out of Felts Field.
It's cool seeing the landing gear of the old tail draggers.
I got got again... Stupid squash hide. They do it on purpose. That monster was buried under the plants and totally skewed my numbers for the day.
A few peppers ready but all hotter ones. I still have at least a month of the greenhouse production to go...
Poor kid was home from school 3 days this week thanks to an stomach/intestinal thing. It took us until yesterday morning to realize he could likely do with a little colon blow so I found an old-ish bottle of Docusate. Just 1 was all it took and within a few hours his insides were feeling markedly better.
PDC is on for the World series finals all weekend.
Mid day I was out at the truck prepping it some more. The oil pump had to come off the timing cover which was super easy. Just 7 bolts after the tube was removed. Which got me to the gear inside which is the actual pump part.
And there is the hole.
So I covered the oil pan opening so I could scrape the RTV off and then covered the engine for the night to keep debris out of it.
As I was working on the truck J came out on the deck and he had his loose tooth in his hand.
It was the front bottom left which you can't see but it's out.
Craft fair today so @stryeyz is taking potatoes with in hopes of selling them. Have quite the pile to off load still.
The grapes are kicking ass this year and the larger are bigger than most years while the smaller are more prolific.
Got a soak in for a while but had a repair to do before bed so got out.
My bedside light got the switch trashed from general use, so I got a new one which didn't last too long before the LED went on the fritz. So I grabbed a little switch I have and soldered the wires on.
It only has one power but that is all I need for by the bed. Wrapped the switch in electrical tape and it is back by the bed.
FUCK YEAH!!! Just looked and my oil pump is coming USPS which delivers WAY earlier than Amazon!!!!! So my day will be filled with putting the truck back together as soon as the pump is here. @stryeyz has the craft fair she and the boys are going to, PDC is on, I will get harvests done, and hopefully be test driving my truck later!
