Father's Day Garlic Day, Weeding, 5 Of 22 Varieties Harvested, Sunburn, Date, Surf n Turf - Sunday

It was mid morning yesterday when we got out to the garden to work on the garlic. I went at the main rows and started digging varieties that are ready. While I harvested @stryeyz and the boys worked on weeding the upper rows which were rather over grown.

For the time being each type got put into a tub to keep them separate. Even have some little volunteer potatoes.

I have the hardest ones dug so far, the tiny Inchelium had to have the soil sifted to find but thanks to planting in 5 row blocks it is just counting the number of rows planted as I harvest.

The bigger garlic are much easier to harvest as they just needed the soil lifted with the pitch fork and I could pull them up by their tops.

I stopped for a short break and called my Dad for father's day. This moth was chillin in the shade of the pergola.

Thankfully my map of the garlic rows was present so I could more easily determine what is what.

The Georgian Crystal look superb and quite large.

I ended up TORCHING my back. I have not been shirtless in the garden for weeks this year like prior so have little to no base and boy did I burn good. We had all called it mid afternoon after the heat was a bit too much.

I was out at the tool shed when I watched the eagle fly some food to the nest, drop it at the chick, then it flew off to the nearby tree top. It bent the tree top at a 90 as it bobbed around in the wind.

@stryeyz and I headed out for a little date for drinks and ended up at Cinola after other places were not open or were too busy. After a beer and some fried mushrooms we headed home where the boys had a scavenger hunt setup for me to find my beer.

For dinner I got a very small fire going and grilled bison steaks while the boys cut up potatoes and @stryeyz got the lobster tails in the instapot. Super good dinner and thankfully she also lathered up my back with aloe from our massive plant. It helped immensely as my skin readily soaked it up. No layer atop my skin, the pores were drinking it in.

Today I have much more garlic to harvest, have a visit to a client's to get an estimate written up for her insurance for flooring install, have gen. contractor license paperwork to fill out, get the boys to deal with the dishes in the kitchen, I really would like a bike ride at some point, then gather tools for my job tomorrow after my session.
