EU Races, Sun, 21.15 Mile Bike Ride, Garmin, E-Cigs, Chains, Sleeves, Sore - Thursday
Cold yesterday morning as it is this morning. Tis the season for Euro races which are all on at about 6-8am my time.

The boys to school the window got int he way of the sun picture.

The womens' race in Bruge was wild with the sudden intense storm that hit them. The hail was very audible as it pinged off the camera. They had just removed their rain jackets a few kms prior and then ended up in the deluge.

It was after 10 am when I got myself pout and on the road for my ride. I made it all the way to Miller's which was near 10 miles, then turned back for home.

Rode through the neighborhood then over to the Perry straightaway which I have down to 3 mins for the mile. I had to take a more circuitous route home as I needed the miles.

My legs never seem to be what tires fastest for me, it is my lower back that gets most grumpy.
I downloaded the book Bike Fit and will now be going through it to fit my bike properly.

My longest ride by .01 miles... LOL. I was able to get my garmin watch to talk to my garmin edge so while riding it is getting my heart rate.
Found 5 e-cigs on my ride. They all got broken down and batteries removed.

Sharpened chains for the saw for the tree felling I am doing today.

My new sets of calf sleeves arrived so I now have 5 pairs to be able to switch up more often. My CEP sleeves are well over 10 years old so it was time to add more.

Rather sore from the long ride I managed to sleep longer last night. The EU racing is on this morning and I will be cutting the tree mid morning. I will climb it and top it before chunking it on my way down. It will get piled to the side and I will go get this weekend when I have the car and trailer available. Tomorrow is R's last wrestling tournament.

Looks like you have the same chain sharpener that I had my friend, it really saves sharpening it yourself!!👍😀
Harbor Freight special. I need a new one as the shaft holding the wheel has worn through the side cover. It IS well over a decade old.
I picked up a used harbor freight chain sharpener online, it does the job my friend!💪😀
I plan to get a top line one that will grind the guides as well.I suck at getting them even by hand
That would definitely be an improvement, I am just happy being able to sharpen my chain myself within somewhat of a tolerance!😇
I listen to my neighbor running his chainsaw, and it sounds like he's sanding the logs... his chain is so dull Lol!🙄
That's a nice ride again, good you're stopping to pick up the e-cigs so they can be properly recycled, I do the same with cans and bottles but they're worth deposit money so it's a win for me as well.
I have a Garmin Edge as well and bought a Coospoo Heartrate band on AliExpress for like $19 or so, it's working great.
The roads are littered with refuse but they might get picked up twice a year. I have my eye tuned to the cigs and see them even at speed most times.
I have had my Instinct 2 Garmin watch which has the heart rate but trying to see metrics on my wrist was a pain. The Edge is really nice to have for better display and I love the climb feature to show the grade of the current climb and distance to the top.
Indeed the climbing feature is really nice, I have to wait and see how it works until I'm on holiday though, no hills here in my country 😅
I live in a river valley so I have to climb 100ft+ elevation to get to any flatter areas. Good warm up though.
I think flemingfarm should definitely wear his glasses over the helmet straps, right? Hahaha.
I didn't notice! 🤣
She's right tho!
I know a cyclist who collects cans for recycling, and now another one who picks up e‑cigs. 😀 And how much do they even pay for those?
Nothing, I scavenge the LiPo batteries out of them and trash the rest. Disposable they are NOT.
To be fair, I wasn't stopping to pick them up if there wasn't a personal gain from it, what @flemingfarm is doing is awesome, just to get the batteries out of nature. Good thing there aren't a lot of e-cigs on the ground here and I never thought about them having a battery in it, from now on IF I see one, I'll pick it up just to save nature, great idea!
Interestingly there are now big piles of garbage that has been picked up and bagged along the highway waiting to be taken off. The crews are out earlier this year to do the first pass. The center median still needs cleaning but they should get to that soonish.
