Dawn Grain Run, Empty, Packing, Driving, Arriving, Eating, Preparing, Freaking - Thursday
I was up too early this morning but I had to in order to get the grain that was ready for me. I was on the road a little after 5am and the sky looked pretty cool to the east and north.
I got downtown to find 4 barrels waiting and quickly got them started loading. I was happy to have minimal traffic to contend with and no one parked in the entire area save the one car.
These barrels empty easy and I had them loaded within 10 minutes and was soon on my way back home. I made it back with little trouble and a bit of gas pedal then dumped the grain into the recently re-expanded bit of pen for the animals.
I totally missed the shot of the emptied grain as I was feeling a bit off from the sudden heat from the work of shoveling. I got the trailer unhooked and then the process began of packing the car. I had to put the topper on the car and all my paragliding gear fit perfectly in it along with all our chairs.
It was actually ME who was lagging in getting out of the house... I'm really just still afraid of what I am putting myself through the next 3 days.
On the road despite my camera's lack of clarity.
R had the dramimine nods and we had to work to get him to go in for stops. This was Missoula for gas and food. Hardee's is just a bitch of Carl's now. Why couldn't it go the other way??? Carl's is no where near as good as Hardee's!
Then on to Helena. It was not as bad of a drive as I had build it up to in my head and we got to our hotel with relative ease. It also help neither of the boys decided to explode their breakfasts.
This is the continental divide and that is Helena out there. Rather intriguing to see this region... It seems to be VERY good for flying nut only on the days that are a lot more mellow than today.
We got into our room and then headed out to the store to grab the variety of things I will need to keep me fueled for the next days. I am not exactly in a mellow state of mind though I am trying to, this is a serious thing I am putting myself through and being the first time it's viscerally intense.
Thankfully the restaurant is <100ft from our room. Oh boy did the sugar load push them...
HOLY FUCKING SHIT I'M GOING TO DO SIV!!!!!!!
This is going to be a CRAZY FUCKING DAY!!! Likely beyond my climbing experiences but I won't set it it stone now before I have my flights.
