Damned Rain, 3DP, Hot Tub, Gravel, Organizing, Burn Pile, New Garmin Watch, Finally Sun - Monday
These mornings are starting off foggy thanks to the continued rains that REFUSE to stop inundating the region. On one hand it's good to keep the fire danger low NOW but on the other it makes for some big and deep materials to burn later... Plus the rains keep me from taking my wing out which is rather annoying right now since all I want to do is go fly.
Got storage racks printed for @stryeyz to store her pancake dies in. This makes it so they are much easier to flip through to find the one she wants.
We had a sorta break in the morning but bits of the system would pop up and dump rain far in front of the front.
The hot tub chems had to be balanced and once they were a bit more normal I tossed all the jets in and then got in for a half hour to soak and to install all the jets.
We have to keep buying more replacement jets since all the "spinner" jets have broken and no longer spin. We just want ones that we can point where we want in their place. I got the jets all installed, whooshed water out to drop the level a bit, then got out and double checked the chems before closing it for the day.
The second set of racks came off which gives her a total of 90 spots to hold dies. For now, until I need to print her more.
About every hour to 2 over the morning it would rain for 20 or so minutes then move on. The doppler didn't show much but it rained.
I had a bit of gravel left in the wheelbarrow and it ended up being the perfect amount to finish leveling the gravel in the hot tub pad.
Dumb phone camera... I scaled one of the 15 slot racks to 4" wide to fit her wider dies. I may need to make another one or two depending on her stock.
Mid day into the afternoon was the full on rain. It's a bit annoying to go out on the deck in the evening after the day of wet and see only .05" in the gauge, which had essentially boned most of my outside work for the day... Then this morning there was .25"...
With the rain I spent a good bit of time in the house cleaning and organizing. I was looking for a part on my shelf in the bedroom which ended up being a full reorganizing of the shelves, and I never found the part. Then I was in the pantry and got a bunch of the canned goods organized/stacked/out of flats.
The sheep can't seem to find their way back down to the bottom and the waters. The alpaca managed it just fine but I have yet to see them back down. You can just see them in the gap between the trees on the hillside in the center of the shot. And that is where they are this morning again.
The burn pile had made it through the rains with still some hot coals inside but not really hot enough to kick back into gear.
I raked the coal then piled pine needles on in hope of them starting but they just wouldn't. So I grabbed my pruning saw and went around a number of the trees by the package box and hacked off the dead branches. I piled them all on then headed up to the house. I was in the pantry again and ended up cleaning up the oodles of boxes that had just one or two cans of sparkling water in them, handed the stack to J and told the boys they could go get it going.
The fire got going and ended up burning down to nothing again. FINALLY Amazon delivered my watch and I spent the rest of the evening getting it setup and trying to get J setup with my old one.
Forget what it's like to soak in perfectly fresh and clear water after a while. The seasonal cleaning is really helpful. We even got some sun to finish the day off.
Stupid weather won't allow me to fly today, tomorrow will be the earliest it looks like. .25" of rain in the gauge this morning and foggy again which will hopefully burn off early. I need to get into the Xmas decorations and pull out a bunch of tinsel to try and use as a bird deterrent in the cherry trees. There are oodles of cherries starting (WAY MORE than any other year) that I want to try and keep for us. If it dries out a bit I should really go for a bike ride since I didn't last week, and I have a fencing project to start on to close in the rest of the farm.

That tub location is perfect! It's kind of my dream house 🤣 and I only get to experice such a view when I travel to a spring. You're so blessed!
This was one of our long time dreams that we made happen. I have to say it's a bit of a toss up which I like better, a natural hotspring or the hot tub... the spring is great for the location and the minerals in the water but the tub is since it is steps from the house...
I am working towards that dream too 😄 may take a while but it's worth chasing for. My only concern has always been medical facilities. How do you deal with the access to healthcare facilities and stuff? Where I am from, if I were to live in that kind of place it would take around an hour or two.
We are only about 10 to 15 minutes from the nearest urgent care or medical facility, either north or south of us. Many of the properties around us are 5+ acres so so have space.
Hopefully the rain will taper off towards the end of the week......
Hot tub looks nice, I'm sure you're glad it's back up!!👍😀
The best is it's level. I can use the top jets for a lot longer now.
Excellent.... I love hot tubs, so nice after a long hard day!!!👍😀
We've had a lot of rain here too in New England and it's really messed up getting the gardens done. But the grass and weeds love it! Sigh....
Yeah the grass and weeds are on hyperdrive here too. Almost see them growing...
