Chores, Motor Teardown Continues, 3DP, Tools, PDC, Afternoon Date, Trailer and Empty - Thursday
Yesterday morning's first half was spent on house chores like washing my clothes, some of which I needed for the day so I had them dried as fast as I could. I got out to the truck around 10am and was able to get the last of the exhaust nuts to come off. Again the sockets come in handy. The problem then was that the exhaust was connected to the transmission with a bracket that was WAY down deep. It was referenced in the manual but I had to go find it and print out the pages. I'll nearly have the entire manual printed by the time I'm done.
Printer going early with more dummy sheets. Rather happy with the filament as it printed much nicer than prior. I've been keeping them in the drier for a long time so I think that might be helping.
The stock is looking really cool with the rainbow of colors I have printed out so far. I need to keep on with the colors to make sure I fill in the spaces and use every color I have. Must print more blues for sure.
That's the bracket I had to loosen.
As I coupled together the various 3/8" extensions I suddenly remembered that I have a 3 foot long one! I found it in the tool shed and it worked PERFECTLY! I was easily able to bust both bolts free and the exhaust was loose.
That had me ready to pull the head BUT....
I didn't have a 10mm hex to fit.... 7 and 8mm keys, but no 10mm.
So I went and jumped in the shower and was out in time to catch the first part of the first match where Luke damn near opened with a 9 darter.
@stryeyz took the afternoon off and got home just as I got out of the shower and the next sheets were done in the printer. Again the pink did much better than prior.
Since I needed the tool we went to North 40 and picked up a trio of hex sockets then headed to Hop Mountain for lunch and beers.
We got to have an afternoon together without the kids for once which was quite nice. They had STEM so we headed up to pick them up mid afternoon. Once back I headed for the truck with my new sockets and managed to get 3 of the bolts broken loose. HOLY SHIT ARE THEY TORQUED TIGHT! Thank god I have easy outs big enough since one of them stripped in the head. Today I will keep the fight going.
I remembered that I had to get the grain emptied finally since I had a grain run this morning. I just dumped in the sheep pen which worked since they were up the hill out of sight.
I left the trailer hooked up then for this morning.
After watching the Sunday animes and eating dinner the boys went to bed and we went to soak.
Really happy this purple actually printed! The filament was SHIT before but this time it seems to have done quite nice. I'm hoping it will do as good for the frame parts now.
I have been to town for grain already in the rain which will be around most of the morning. The printer is going already, the boys will be to school in a bit, I'll work on the truck motor, then pick them up from school as they have a birthday party to go to at the skating rink then they have movie night at the school.
