Chores, 3DP, Sunshine, Cable, Seeds, Some Assembly Required, Ice Screws, Practice - Monday

Yesterday morning was slotted to chores. The weekend gets busy and the washer is generally in use so I wait until weekdays when I have the house to myself. I got my clothes washed and while drying got a shower and shave in. The HSW parts came out on the first print of the day and got put the their respective bags.

The first half of the day was sunny and a little warmer until the winds kicked in and the clouds moved in.

I was walking the farm checking on various areas when I was by the little creek and saw the coil of wire that had been the zipline lying in the grass. I coiled it up and then drug it up to the tool shed with the other half of the length.

The seeds got drug up from the basement and I began rummaging through in search of what I will be planting. This year will be pared down again but with the upper garden no longer I need a place to grow the pumpkins and melons so have some thinking to do.

I printed out a bunch more from the FSM then began the process of putting the motor back together. The cams went back in on the driver side and the brackets and bolts put in place snug.

IMG_20250310_134443.jpg

Then torquing the bolts. Rather silly... one size is 80 in ft/lbs while the other is 18 ft ft/lbs... So dividing by 12 means the smaller bolts needed 6 2/3 ft ft/lbs.... So screwy. The extension and long socket make for some error but as long as they are tight enough that's what matters most.

Then I got the #2 chains on the cam sprockets and the timing is looking like it won't be impossible to set. The FSM shows how to set the cam lobes so the timing will set right, so as long as I follow the manual I should be able to do this.

I just watched on flightradar as the Fedex plane with my part flew into Spokane so I know it will be delivered today.

I have to remember to torque the cam sprocket bolts as they are just hand tight right now! I also need to figure out the right RTV to use for the water pump spots.... it's supposed to be gray but I only have black and red right now...

Have to keep printing the Dummy sheets especially now that @stryeyz has a booth at the Camden grange monthly bazaar. I need to have tons of the armor and frame sheets printed out and then a lot of the accessories sheets as well. I'm figuring $2.50/sheet or $5/dummy will work and the licensing is okay for sales.

MY ICE SCREWS ARRIVED!!!! SERIOUSLY, what an insane savings! This is well over $500 worth of screws I got for $160!!!! They are a little worn and need some edges sharpened but holy shit am I anxious for next winter!!!

J had at the printer in the afternoon and pushed through a few various parts. He tried out the army man and it did pretty well. The supports came off nicely and he was pleased with the outcome.

After pulling out leftovers for dinner and getting him fed I got R to practice for the evening. It's so weird going from it being dark walking into practice to now it's still bright out is just odd.

The weather is headed our way but it looks to be later. We had a couple sprinkles but otherwise nothing until a bit ago as a band went by.

I should not have been up this early today but I couldn't get back to sleep at 3, ended up on the couch as my hip is sore, but got to watch the Fedex plane land on flightradar with my truck part....

Today I wait on the parts to arrive and as soon as they do I will be working on the install. I have a few things still to do before but that won't take long. I'll get the boys to school in a while, will go to Deer Park Napa for the socket (I don't really need) and RTV for the water pump, swap filament and keep printing dummy sheets, work on the seed selection, the greenhouse needs tilling so it can get planted sooner than later, and figure out dinner this evening.
