Chilly, Sunny, Pedals, 18.75 Mile Bike Ride, PRs, Graupel, Frozen Ground - Monday
Rather nice sunrise yesterday morning as the clouds were getting blown away quickly. It didn't take long before the sky was clear for much of the morning.

Did a quick print of the base for the Q5 brake light I got for my bike. This will allow me to attach the light much easier.

I had headed to the garden mid morning to see about tilling more but found the soil still hard and not nice and loose and tillable. I lobbed a bunch of the rocks that were exposed over the fence and went back to the house.
My pedals finally arrived around noon and I got them swapped out quickly. They are killer having the dual sides so I can ride normal or with my cycling shoes.

It took me a bit to figure out how to clip in to them and the tension had to get adjusted badly, likely still needs more...

So I got ready and headed out for a ride after evening my tires out at 50 psi each which makes the ride a good bit faster. Can go up to 60 psi but that removes any cushioning the tires might give on bumps. I chose the path as I went and the shoes/pedals make the effort feel a bit different, easier in a number of ways.

I am able to apply more power to each pedal stroke now that I can use the other 180 degrees of motion.

Over 9 miles into the ride I began getting pelted by little tiny snowballs falling from the sky. You can't quite see them but they were there. At first I got hit in the face by one and thought it was a bug until I saw more falling. This was riding along Deer Park/Milan rd which made me want my bike helmet which was delivering.

Headed south on Perry then west on Westmoreland to Cedar where I headed south to Owens. The clouds were a lot thicker and the little cells were streaming across the region.

It worked perfect, I was riding back down our road as Amazon was delivering. 18.75 miles in 1h30m was rather good.
I even managed a few PRs. 5 mile, 10 mile, and 30k. The 5 mile was the end of my ride with the most downhill... It makes me want to go do laps on the Perry straight mile to see if I can get down to the 15-ish minute range for 5 miles.
I've got my eye on a bike trainer that will allow me ride inside when the weather is utter shite. I am willing to spend the $175 for one that doesn't require a subscription and will connect to my Garmin watch with the Ant+.
The new brake light for my bike is really nice and really does well at night, when I am less likely to be riding much. Daytime it is still quite visible and will help for my rides amongst traffic.

I wish these weren't such one-offs in the session. Trying to get more consistency in the visits.

26F this morning but clear so should warm up a bit this morning. Boys to school soon, weekly session in a couple hours, will get a ride in, work in the garden, dailies/practices, roll a bale to the sheep, and reset mouse traps around the house.
