Brrr, 3DPrinter Mods, 3dPrinter Fight, Creek Ice, 4 Nations, Practice, Prints - Wednesday
Woke to the -2F temps yesterday morning and found the print from overnight was done, cooled, and loose on the plate. One of the nice things with PLA is it releases easily from the plate, especially if it is cold. I'm trying to get a bunch of the HSW parts printed out so I can put more panels up around the house.
The sun came up and the temp fell to -4F which is what my truck said as I dropped the boys off at school.
I had this panel going first thing and it was done not long after I dropped the boys off. I used the 4 I had printed so needed to get them printed out again.
So then began the fight. I was printing the panels in PLA and after the first one came off the second started right away and after layer 2 the nozzle borked and the filament stopped feeding. I fought with the damned thing for a couple hours and tried 4 more prints before it FINALLY managed to work. I ended up swapping out the extruder gears for the original and it seemed to work okay after that.
During this I also changed out the HSW panels and door hinges. The hinges now allow the door to open flush with the left side but don't allow the HSW panel to mount. So I moved half the panel to the right side.
I now have the tools and alcohol bottle on this side which works just fine.
I went out to check the mail and on my way back to the house stopped at the little creek. The ice has built up better in this part of the creek for sure.
At a couple spots ice dams had built up with well over a foot thick ice. from this spot then up stream about 60 feet the ice was thick and SUPER glass smooth. It was all I could do to keep standing on it.
Finally the panels were coming off in better shape.
It's nice they don't take forever like some of the prints.
I managed to get dinner made in time to get R to practice and the 4 Nations first game was on. Canada got a super early goal which looked to set the tone.
I took R to practice and we were some of the early arrivers.
It didn't take long for them to fall into a game as the kids filtered in.
FINALLY the last HSW panel was done near 7pm. It should have been done by noon....
Went to pick R up and they were playing dodgeball. Poor R and his stupid cough keeps messing with him but he made it to the very end of practice again.
Got home to see the score tied and then it went to OT which Canada managed to win on a Marner goal. Really good game and tonight is US/Denmark.
One more order for a Dummy which I didn't have the colors printed out already. The black frame went first since I had black still in the printer.
Headed out to soak but my skin had me out early.
I barely made it long enough to take the armor print off the plate and was soon knocked out in bed.
Today is the last sub zero morning as we are headed for snow/rain. The boys to school first thing, the printer is going already, I have to try and get waters filled for the animals, PDC is on mid day, the boys have stem club after school then it is stem night at J's school we will take both boys to tonight.

Hope your freeze proof water faucets are doing well in this weather..... stay warm my friend!👍😀
I really enjoy your page, especially the foot ball, thanks for sharing.
I've had enough of this cold snap! It makes me think I'm back in Minnesota again.
You're in luck it's supposed to be 22F tonight. Still freezing but not this -0 stuff. Although 1 week of real winter does seem a bit on the light side...
