Antenna, 3DP, Garlic Sprinklers, Irrigation Change, Planting 250 Potatoes, Rain - Monday

After getting the boys to school yesterday I took a bit of time to try and install the 2m #hamradio antenna on the sled. I managed to get the wire finagled through the passenger door but I think the best is still going to be out the moon roof. The problem is running the wire then down the inside. It works for now and I can mess with it later.

The printer got to work and these camp stove legs came out great.

The legs bolt to the center piece and the thing fold down flat. SUPER handy for the cans and will make leveling much nicer and having a big foot print will help with the pot of water perched atop it.

The garlic HAD to get irrigation setup so I went digging in the piles of pipe and found the lengths of funny pipe I had. They amounted to just enough that I was able to install 6 popup sprinklers but they were on the same line as drip lines so the pressure was not nearly as high as it needed to be.

The bug gun came out pretty good but I am needing to come up with good springs for them. The lip doesn't hold super well on the dart side but for a .50 oz print it is what it is.

After noon I headed out to the spud run. The rows are not even, the upper is longer than the lower by 10 feet. I laid out the #potatoes for each spot then went through and dug them all in. The tendrils get wrapped around the spud loosely then buried in the soil. I got the lower smaller section done first then took a break for a bit for food.

Then I went back out and laid out the rest of the spuds in the rows. There were less tendrils so they went in a bit faster, thankfully since my body is torched from the past week +.

Crazy looking at the time stamps on my pics I had them laid out at 1:32pm and then they were all dug in by 1:45... It felt like it took WAY longer than 15 minutes... 3 minutes per row...

Wow, it felt like at least half an hour to do.

After a another bit of a break I headed back up to the irrigation lines. The #garlic needs to be on its own zone so I removed all the other lines and capped everything except the popups. Then I found a section of line the I teed into the greenhouse zone which then attached to the 2 lines I had removed. Now it's only drip on the drip zones and popups on its zone.

After picking J up from running club I was back in the garden working on the irrigation lines off the end of the garlic area. I borked the pic but got 4 lines in the area I had 3 before but they are way too long so have them plugged at length. I have to come up with the plastic to cover now.

A better test of the garlic zone with only the popups on the zone. After staking a couple I have TOTAL COVERAGE! The zone will run for 5 minutes every morning which should be ample water. I may even have it every other day so as not to water log the bulbs. The boys are going to help me fill in between the garlic with the pine needles to help with the weeds which will explode with the overhead watering.

A few of the bug guns. I should hit North 40 today for the proper springs plus need dog food.

In the afternoon the clouds moved in which dropped the temp a good bit and then by the evening the first drops were hitting. It took till later for it to really hit us though.

My quads are so sore from the run and hiking then all the farm work. I think I got a bit of sun too as my back burned as I got into the water.

Woke to solid rain this morning which looks to be done mid day as it's hauling ass across the region right now. I will get the boys to school, go to my chiro appointment, hit North 40 on the way home, when the rain abates I will go plant in the garden and find the plastic for the section. Should have tilled the last area yesterday since now it's soaked and will have to go a day or two to dry out before I can till.
