4am Grain Run, Spreading, 10 Mile Bike Ride, 100km Week, Wrestling Tournament - Saturday
I was on the road to town yesterday morning by 4am for a load of spent brewing grain. Had to stop for gas on the way an the moon was crazy bright and looking like it is very near an eclipse.

Solid load of grain to deal with.

I got the barrels loaded to the trailer pretty quickly in the 28F temps. I was surprised the grain wasn't steaming still.

I got back to the farm by 5am and had 3 wheelbarrow loads of the grain spread around the greenhouse soil. My headlamp battery died then and I had to swap out the cell.

Then covered the rest of the main garden area.

The rest of the grain got shoveled to the sheep pen.

With the trailer unhitched I then put the bike carrier on the receiver. First use of the thing so was good to setup and try out finally.

We were loaded up for wrestling and biking and were out of the house by 7:45am. Hauled stuff into the gym and got seats then J and I headed out for an hour bike ride along the Children Of The Sun trail.

It starts/ends in Wandermere at Farwell road in front of the McDonalds.

HOLY SHIT!!!!! THIS IS A 1500 FOOT LONG BOULDERING TRAVERSE!!!!! IT IS PERFECT!!! MAN MADE BUT THE LONGEST TRAVERSE I HAVE EVER SEEN!
This is the freeway wall on the neighborhood side and this fascia runs the entire length of the wall. I WILL be going back for bouldering as there are zero "no climbing" signs anywhere.

J does really well and keeps up for the most part. My bike tires are road tires so they a faster than his dirt tires for sure. I need to get him the road tires before too long.

This is along the bypass on the east side of the 2.

We road to the top of the hill which is the highest elevation on the entire trail and our turn around point. We had gone over 5 miles by this point and I needed at least 9 for my 100km week.

LOTS of downhill on the return.

The metal Trump that stands near the 2/Bypass interchange.

We got back to the school with over 10 miles ridden in just over an hour. We locked the bikes up on the car and got changed out of our cycling gear into comfy clothes for the day of matches.
Garmin had the 100km week ride challenge and I managed to do it! I saw it earlier in the week and thought, "no chance I'll manage that" but here I am having done it! My current goal I think will be to ride over 1000 miles this year. If I get just 2 rides of about 15 miles per week that would put me well over 1000 miles by the end of the year. So far I have 83.66 miles ridden, which means another 916 miles to go this year.
This was our spot and it worked out well as R's matches were all on mat 9 save 1 match which was on mat 8.

R had 5 matches over the day and as the day wears on the time between matches reduces as more kids are finishing their round robin matches.

He did great on his first two matches winning the first by pin after being down on points the whole match then won by points on the next.

He ran into problems then with the next 3 matches which he lost. The last match was so close but he was too tired to do well. He ended up in 4th out of the 6 kids in his bracket and went 2 and 3 for the day.

We got home and it took a bit to unpack the car as we all tried to relax and calm down after the crazy busy day. The cacophony in that gym is a bit much and I had to do some wandering to give my head a rest from it all at times. Home was quite nice then to have our normal audial inputs.
After dinner @stryeyz and our friend went to town and the boys and I hung at home. I ended up barely making it till past 8pm before having to crash.

Today I think we are going skiing for the morning though I will admit my body is rather sore and tired from the last week.
