3dPrinting, Glimmer Of Sun, Skis, Salt Haul, Graupel Deluge Waves, Codes, Practice - Monday
Quite sore yesterday morning so the earlier hours were spent rummaging for info on the truck which still has me a bit flummoxed. I had no desire to tear into again right away so tore into the service manual again in hopes of an epiphany, but no lightning stuck my skull.
I noticed the sudden lighter look outside near noon and was able to get out and stand in the most sun we got all day.
R's old skis had still okay bindings on them so I spent a bit of time getting them removed. The sticks will get used for something around the farm. When I went to put them in the gear shed I found I have a slew of old bindings and skis. The skis will get used for something, maybe a sled for the farm?
My bindings needed a touchup after the one popped on Friday. I now know how to pop them back together on the slope. I also pulled off my hill climb risers. The stupid things caught the back of my boot everytime and if I'm not skinning I don't need them on. The riser bars went in my skins bag.
More HSW parts. I need to do the side pieces today.
I'd been neglecting to haul the salt since my truck is dead. I finally got the gumption to bring some to the house from the studio where they are stored, then hauled it down to the basement and filled the softener.
I got locks for the Tardis, one for the right and left doors, and so needed key rings for them to denote which is which. I printed of little Tardis key rings in black and blue. The black is the "wrong" color and the left door while the blue is the "right" color and the right door.
At 2pm I had come in from outside and sat down for a bit. I looked out across the valley and saw the wall of white moving my way.
Soon a crazy heavy dumping of graupel started pounding down on the farm. The air was near 40F and the ground pretty warm so the stuff hit and began to melt instantly.
I watched the chunks bounce and saw them increase in size from the small little 1/8" to 1/4" to 3/8" and then some big fat 1/2" mounds of styro-snow.
The waves were super heavy for a while then all of a sudden it was gone and I could watch the backside of the graupel moving to the east across the farm.
Just the lineup of cells that did all that.
It was crazy heavy for a while with the next cell then suddenly the switch turned off and it stopped.
The boys had gotten home from school just as the last cell passed over. Once the sky was not so dumpy I hauled my laptop out to the sled and plugged in to see what the codes were. It was all just knock sensors and o2 sensor codes which I cleared and will see if they pop back today. There is still a slight hiccup in the rpm at times but that just may mean I need new plugs in the thing.
Trying to use up a roll of filament I printed out a little Tardis for @stryeyz for her desk.
I had corned beef and cabbage dinner ready early so R could get to wrestling practice. The headband works wonders for keeping his hair out of his face and he seemed happier with it.
The Buffalo Boston game was pretty good. I watched as they are not friendly and there was some good fights. @stryeyz picked R up then we headed out for the soak.
Today I have my chiro appointment this morning which I really need, then probably rip into the motor again, should order the timing chains, @stryeyz will buy R's new skis this evening, and I'm trying to find or maneuver to shift more to sats for the pending potential run given the number of corps and nation states accumulating now, and my #meshtastic devices all need updating to 2.6 which will be a rather involved process.
