3DP, PDC, Wasp Deterrents, Mirror, More Rain, Bee Hive House Setup, Main Garden Tilled, GR8 - Monday
I just missed it yesterday morning as I turned on the PDC, MVG hit a 9 darter, the first in the German Grand Prix history. I was really hoping he wouldn't win but he just kept winning the rest of the day.
I got more of the wasp deterrent printed out which gave me a dozen that I then went around the farm and installed on most all the structures.
Even put one in the package box.
Keeping the printer going I got a jewelry stand started for @stryeyz craft shows.
The mail delivered my new side mirror for the sled and it took a bit to get the back cleaned up and then wait for the rain to pass. It fits perfectly and hopefully the sticky pads will lock the thing in place solidly. It's REALLY nice to have the side mirror once again.
The storm cells were popping up all around the region and they kept streaming over the farm. I would be working then it would down pour so I would go in, it would stop and out I would go again. Damned neurotic spring weather.
Littler was not on his game as much as he should have been and GVV got him in the semis.
The sled's gas gauge is not exactly right and reads low so I have been guessing at mileage and capacity. The gauge was flat on E and the light had been on for a while but the last fill only took half a tank. I got 20 mpg this tank which will give me a good guestimate spot to make sure I fill at. Roughly the 275 mile mark gives me a couple gallons left in the tank.
I pickup my nuc on Saturday so I have to have the hive ready for them. I am moving the hive inside the garden shed in hopes of keeping the bees in better shape for the winter and hopefully get the hive to survive. To do this I had to hack at the shed.
I measured for the entrance cover and cut it out of a piece of cedar t&g.
Drilled holes in the wall to start the recip saw.
Another down pour came through.
I cut the slot for their entrance which is a little wonky but I think will be perfect.
So the base slides up to the wall then the riser sits atop it butted up to the cedar entrance cover. The supers stack atop them and the bees will have a nice and defensible entryway that eliminates mice getting in.
I'll clean up the outside and straighten it a bit then sand it smoother. This setup is going to give the bees a huge step up and will keep the hives far more temperature stable over the summer.
I just squeezed the deterrents onto the print around the display part. These 6 will get installed today and I will print 6 more so I can go tack them on trees around the farm. I'm going all in trying these out since if they work we won't have wasps this year. If they don't, then it's just like normal.
I had to pick J up from running club then once home I was out in the garden getting the tilling done.
Another "treasure" unearthed by the tines.
It was perfect. I had just finished the last bit of the upper area and was swinging the tiller to put it in this spot when it ran out of gas. Superb timing on its part.
It didn't take too much longer and I had the rest of the main garden tilled. I have one area to till for sure and likely the pole area but not the lower, cool, or upper.
The rest of the stand parts finished but the base had some goobers on it that I still need to clean up a bit today.
Playoff hockey and OV got his first ever playoff OT game winning goal. Seriously.... how the hell did that not happen, many years ago?
Out to soak a bit earlier or it just seems like it since it's light later.
Screwed up in the support and it stuck which borked the hammer. I did it at 5% anyway so it only is a couple ounces of filament. It's more like a prop hammer.
This morning I'll get the boys to school, then today I will get the main garden laid out and hopefully ready to plant, till remaining spots, new HTs will be here and will get them programmed, actually clean the sled windows, then this evening is the school preview for J for next year.

You should make some prop nails.
I have gray filament which would look close enough to norm nails.
The garden looks tilled up nice!💪😊Let me know how the wasp deterrent works. They are everywhere up here!🙄😳
