31.8 Mile/50K Bike Ride, Mustard Fields, Skeleton, Apples, Cookies, Grilling, Trailer - Friday

After dropping the boys at school yesterday morning I went out on a ride. Wanted to go down Half Moon and after the climb up Wild Rose was treated to the mustard fields in explosive bloom.

The yellow was so bright I was thankful for my sunglasses.

Made it across the 395 without stopping to wait for cars and the fields on the west side were even bigger. Looked cool how the field looked like it just kept going.

Then at the west end of Half Moon at the intersection with Austin this house has a 9 foot tall skeleton in their yard looking at the intersection.

Thing is super cool and big.

I rode through Deer Park then through Riverside and headed back towards home. I did a jog through the neighborhood then back over to the cut-off. I was able to move good and made it to the highway 3rd on the segment with 2:40, I need to shave 6 seconds off to get the record. This was at the end of my 50K ride! Also got my fastest 30 and 40K.

Once home I checked the garden and prepped tools for today. The apple trees are ALL in super bloom this year.

Hiked up to the upper property and did a lap. Found a spot dug under the fence so filled it in with a log.

R went to town making his cookies. He made a 4x batch and had a rather big amount of dough to work with.

Got the fire going for grilling.

Then did burgers, and with the warm weather we can sit on the deck to eat.

J was rather touchy as @stryeyz perused his phone...

I got the trailer hooked up for the grain run I have already done.

Then we got a soak in until was too hot.

I have been to town for grain but it stays in the trailer to take to my client's to till into her soil. The boys are going with to help move dirt in a section of the yard and have a couple other small tasks. @stryeyz will try her wet suit out today finally at the lake.

Very cool 9 foot tall skeleton, I wonder why it’s still up this time of year?🤣
Burgers on the grill…… you’re making me hungry already!☺️

It looks pretty solid so not likely easy to take down. Plus it stares at the intersection like a warning to people not to wreck.

Nice ride! We have the yellow fields in Europe as well from what looks to be the same plant I think is rapeseed.
