What Do You Think the Future for Hive and Leo Entails?
Here and there, i catch myself thinking about the future of Hive and LEO. I am here since forever, way back to Steem days so i have seen everything. I have seen people come and go, some of them being abusers and trying to take advantage of others, the same for scam projects, the bot wars and the new era that was called Hive as well as the creation of LEO.
In terms of Hive to be completely honest, i think it's far better than Steem in terms of everything. Above all our community is far better. Also, i have seen some DAPPS here and there and honestly i believe this is the key to attract people. Awesome dapps that will attract more and more people and make them stay.
Ofc we need to make sure people that will join Hive to write, curate, post etc etc will earn by doing so. There are a lot of initiatives to find good content and such but still in my eyes it's not enough. While people living in third world countries may see Hive as an awesome way to earn something that will help them in their daily lives like $1-2$ people from other countries like USA or any European country can do much with that kind of money. There are a handful of people earning more than 10$ posting. This of course can change if Hive had more value but we are far from that.
In general we need ways to:
- Attract people
- Make them sign up easily
- Educate them on how everything works and the different ways of earning
- Retain them
I honestly believe that we pretty much lack in each of these things above. This is not a rant though, i know some people are trying a lot and i mean a lot to change that and i salute them for their efforts!
Look at our market cap, for example. Now i am not expert to analyse everything, nor do i look way deep as i used to but around 5 years ago, we started with 50 million market cap, in 2022 this skyrocketed to 1 freaking billion, then until the of 2024 the peak was something like 257 million and now we are down to 130 million. At the same time BTC broke one ATH after the other.
I am still a firm Hive believer or a dreamer if you wich and i really really hope to see Hive reach at least 1$ again someday. We still have an amazing "product" let's say that has more "freedome" than most out there, proven and with different streams of income, we just need a light or something!
At the same time i already have an idea on how people are abusing the DHF and taking advantage of all of the money, something that finally needs to be stopped. I also know that even though i am stating all of these, i don't actually do something big to change that. A few posts here and there when time allows, a bit of curation and comments and that's that. I am not trying to act like i am better, i need to be more active as well, (at least i am not taking advantage of others :P ).
Now, LEO for me was a bright light, an array of Hope, let's say. I strongly believes that it would made Hive reach to 3$ or more. The team behind it was and is hardworking and is trying hard, I still remember when LEO was 1$ and 3$. Best time ever!
A lot of the features were and are great and i believe that they help Hive a lot. Ofc in the meantime and in an attempt to be "everywhere" they made some mistakes as well. For instance, the whole Cub Finance and Kigdoms thing was a failure and many many people lost money, got frustrated and left. People who were some of the top LEO believers.
Also, i have seen and witnessed some mistakes in the form of failed comments from the team, like blaming the holders and stuff. For me no matter what you think or how right you think you are, you are not telling someone who has invested in you even for the purpose to sell in a pump, that he is the problem and that we don't need them.
On a brighter side, i still believe in LEO, due to my limited free time i don't know what exactly is happening in front and behind the scenes, nor that the team does in order to increase the value of their token, which is quite low at the time as Hive. I really want them to keep at it and stay here and make it something big. As you can see keep on staking and haven't actually powered down never!
I plan on keeping increasing my stake on Hive, LEO and GIFU for now and i am not even close to thinking of giving up or powering down!
In any case this was just a post to share some of my thoughts. I would like to hear some of your thoughts if you are a veteran member like me, a new guy, someone who owns a dapp or someone who has looked at the numbers in more detail. I don't really care about the upvotes on this post, i would prefer to see tons of comments and to open a discussion with people sharing their concerns, solutions, ideas and such!
