Progress on Small Projects

I work on projects in bits of found time. I'm blessed to have a room where I can keep tools out and ready to use. One project this week was a denim skirt. I removed a too-tight waistband, adjusted the pleats, and sewed a new waistband from some denim that almost matched.

I also continued with my hand-cranked circular knitting machine. I plan for this tube to be a warm hat, double thickness, or a winter scarf. Although I love hand knitting, this machine is great for plain, no-frills knitting. I still do my more creative stuff with needles, though.

Circular knitting machines have a learning curve and only work with certain weights of yarn--and even some brands don't work as well as others--but are a handy tool for charity knitting or for a flurry of holiday knitting.

One more thing: if you notice the pink parts on my machine, that is because I got the machine at a bargain price on eBay with no legs and no tension clip. I found replacement parts on Amazon for another brand and was happy to find they fit my machine
