Nos debatimos mentalmente sobre que hacer con nuestra crónica de hoy, dado los recientes acontecimientos en Venezuela, donde un par de sismos hicieron mover hasta nuestras entrañas sentadas en un sofá. La naturaleza de los remezones al estar separados por menos de 40 segundos, hizo parecer que la tierra se sacudió por más de minuto y medio en un solo terremoto, dada la física envuelta en la transmisión de las ondas terrestres y la poca profundidad de ambos movimientos. Las lámparas cableadas de nuestro hogar se movieron de un lado a otro fuertemente y al sentir que no paraba el temblor, nos levantamos del mueble sólo para ir a parar contra la pared, ya que se hizo imposible correr hacia afuera sin caernos. Nuestra familia toda no sufrió consecuencias y sólo daños materiales en edificaciones no ocupadas por ellos, nublaron nuestra jornada. Nuestras oraciones por las familias que han quedado sin hogar y nuestro pésame aquellos quienes perdieron seres queridos en la tragedia. Agradecido con quienes han estado pendientes del bienestar de éste servidor.

We were totally losing our minds trying to figure out what to do with today’s post, especially after everything that just went down here in Venezuela. A couple of earthquakes literally shook us to our core while we were just chilling on the couch. Since they hit less than 40 seconds apart, the physics behind the seismic waves and how shallow they were made it feel like the ground was rolling for over a minute and a half straight in one massive quake. The hanging lamps in our place were swinging wildly back and forth. When we realized the shaking wasn't stopping, we jumped up from the sofa only to get slammed right into the wall—trying to run outside without wiping out was completely impossible. Thankfully, our family is all safe and sound. The only downer today was seeing the property damage on some buildings they don't live in. Sending major prayers to all the families who lost their homes, and our deepest condolences to everyone who lost loved ones in this tragedy. I am grateful to those who have been concerned about my well-being.
