Si usted está fuera de Venezuela y ha seguido por las redes la tragedia que enluta nuestra nación, es natural suceda escenas como la de ayer en Fenway Park cuando luego de conectar un cuadrangular con dos hombres en circulación, el primera base criollo de los patirrojos Willson Contreras estalló a llorar de emoción en el dugout. Esa muestra de humanidad tiene que ver, por supuesto, con la solidaridad hacia las víctimas. Pero también tiene otro trasfondo. La presión dentro del equipo por resultados mejores. That display of raw emotion stems, of course, from solidarity with the victims, but there’s also another layer to it: the heavy organizational pressure to produce, creating a perfect storm of bottled-up feelings that finally boiled over. Pues sí, el abridor valenciano de los Diamondbacks de Arizona Eduardo Rodríguez, quien supo contener con su labor a los Gigantes de San Francisco. Apenas ponchó a un solo contendiente, pero durante siete episodios de labor, toleró 5 imparables, una carrera limpia y no regaló ningún boleto. El hombre arribó a su 7mo. triunfo en la campaña con solo 2 juegos perdidos y estacionó su EFE en 2.21. Un minúsculo WHIP de 1.18 y un promedio de bateo de los contrarios establecido en .219, dicen mucho de la extraordinaria zafra que está teniendo el hombre. Para éste redactor, Eduardo es el mejor candidato hasta ahora del premio "Regreso del Año", luego de sortear sus dos últimas campañas con EFE de +5.00. Desde que lanzó y ganó su salida a los Estados Unidos en el WBC, el criollo ha sido otro lanzador. Y aunque los Dodgers están escapados en el liderazgo del oeste de la Nacional, los ofidios se encuentran a tan solo 2.5 juegos del tercer comodín de la liga.
