Las emociones dentro y fuera de las fronteras por las consecuencias del desastre telúrico en Venezuela, están a flor de piel. La diatriba ha subido de tono en lo que respecta a la manera de abordar las labores de rescate, contra un reloj que no detiene la marcha y las cientos o miles de personas atrapadas. Pero, dentro de una tragedia en desarrollo, hay almas que no pueden dejar de honrar los compromisos adquiridos, a sabiendas de un nuevo amanecer como algo perenne. Así, las cosas, aunque haya dolor, el show debe continuar. Al menos así lo ve éste redactor y los profesionales de origen venezolano, en los rosters de grandes ligas, son el mejor ejemplo. Ayer salieron al diamante entre apoyo moral y minutos de silencio en todos los estadios de la MLB. Y estos, conmovidos hasta los tuétanos, respondieron a los homenajes haciendo de la jornada un día extraordinario ¿La razón? Versión corta: un blanqueo combinado de puros criollos y la primera hoja de linea ofensiva idéntica, entregada por unos hermanos originarios de Venezuela, en sus respectivos compromisos. Sí, lo sé; no es historia para la mayoría, pero para quienes seguimos el béisbol con determinación, podríamos afirmar que los venezolanos jugaron con el corazón.
