Lo bueno ofrecido por las ligas invernales, es poder ver en acción a jugadores que -de otro modo- serían imposibles de conocer, por no ser regulares en las grandes ligas. El béisbol en verdad es universal, sólo que no ha escalado en el gusto de las mayorías. Si no me lo creen, pregunten a mi querido amigo argentino @hosgug, quien con sus amados Rojos de Cincinnati no pierde el paso a la MLB (y más aún, ahora que los Rojos parecen convertirse en un equipo a tomar en cuenta para la postemporada de la zafra 2026). Particularmente, jamás imaginaría ver peloteros brasileños en nuestra liga, pero los hay. Y ayer en la tarde Eric Pardinho, a la sazón abridor de los Tiburones de La Guaira, brilló de manera fulgurante al blanquear por seis episodios a los Caribes de Oriente en ruta a la victoria por marcador 4-0 de los escualos sobre los indígenas. Apenas permitió 5 imparables, enfrentó a 22 bateadores ponchando a 5 y otorgando dos boletos. Tuvo la ayuda de tres doble plays hechos por la defensiva en el 2do., 3ro y 5to episodio.

Just yesterday, Eric Pardinho took the bump for the Tiburones de La Guaira and lit it up—six shutout frames against the Caribes de Oriente, cruising to a 4-zip win for the fish over the tribe. He scattered five knocks, faced 22 hitters, punched out five, walked two, and got some slick leather behind him with three twin killings in the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th.
Con la victoria, los Tiburones de la Guaira se mantienen en el sexto puesto de la tabla igualados con Cardenales de Lara, a 5 juegos de la punta. Mientras, Caribes se posiciona en el cuarto puesto a 4,5 juegos de la azotea. Y fueron precisamente los Cardenales quienes devolvieron el golpe de antier a los Bravos de Margarita en Barquisimeto, al apalearlos 9 carreras por 6, con ataque de 12 inatrapables (exceptuando a Luisangel Acuña, quien fue el único titular quien no bateó incogibles, pero consiguió un boleto) la falta de piedad se tradujo en un triunfo que les permitió mantener el empate con los Tiburones en el sexto puesto de la tabla, mientras que Bravos cedió el segundo lugar a los Leones del Caracas.

With the win, the Tiburones de La Guaira held steady in sixth place, tied with the Cardenales de Lara, both sitting five games off the top. Meanwhile, the Caribes locked into fourth, just four and a half back of the summit. And it was the Cardenales who got their payback from two nights ago, roughing up the Bravos de Margarita in Barquisimeto with a 9–6 beatdown. They racked up a dozen knocks—every starter chipped in except Luisangel Acuña, who went hitless but still worked a walk. That no-mercy approach kept them neck-and-neck with the Tiburones in the standings, while the Bravos slipped out of second place, handing the spot over to the Leones del Caracas.
Y los felinos de la capital por fin pudieron sacarse de encima la dictadura que sobre ellos mantenía hasta ahora en el campeonato, los Navegantes del Magallanes (quienes dentro de sus apenas 5 victorias en la zafra, dos eran sobre sus eternos rivales), al ganarles 3 carreras por 2 en un cerrado duelo tal como ambos no tienen acostumbrados. Aunque el abridor caraquista José Torres permitió 4 imparables, mantuvo durante 5 episodios en cero la pizarra, ponchando a 7 oponentes y entregando otra salida de calidad. Y aunque Moisés Gómez permitió las dos rayas navegantes, el bullpen se encargó de apretar el brazo para preservar el triunfo. Caracas se cuela al segundo lugar de la clasificación detrás de los otros felinos del campeonato y los Navegantes del Magallanes no terminan de descifrar la liga y ya están a 8 juegos en el sótano.

The capital cats finally shook off the hex the Magallanes Navigators had on them all season—two of Magallanes’ five total wins had come against their eternal rivals—but Caracas flipped the script with a tight 3–2 win in another nail-biter between these two. José Torres got the start for the Lions and delivered five scoreless innings despite giving up four hits, fanning seven and turning in another quality outing. Moisés Gómez gave up the two Magallanes runs, but the bullpen locked it down the rest of the way to seal the dub. With that, Caracas claws its way into second place, just behind the other feline squad in the standings, while Magallanes keeps spinning its wheels at the bottom, now eight games out and still trying to figure out this league.
Por último, los Tigres de Aragua rugieron en Maracay sobre las Águilas del Zulia, desatando el infierno con 18 imparables y 13 carreras, encaminados a la victoria de 13 carreras a 3. Todo el team colaboró impulsando carreras y quien destacó fue el receptor J.J. D´Orazio al empujar tres con dos imparables en tres turnos y logrando un boleto. Los escualos metieron el juego en el refrigerador a la altura del 3er. episodio cuando anotaron 7 carreras más que suficientes para obtener una ventaja nunca perdida. Con el triunfo, los Tigres se consolidan en la azotea del campeonato, mientras la Águilas caen al cuarto lugar de la liga. Hoy los juegos serán en horario vespertino (4:00 p.m.) y enfrentarán a Bravos-Tiburones en Macuto, Navegantes-Leones en el Metropolitano, Caribes-Tigres en Maracay y Águilas-Cardenales en el Antonio Herrera Gutiérrez de Barquisimeto.
