Hemos meditado largamente antes de escribir la presente publicación, buscando excusas para no hacerla. No nos malentienda querido lector, siempre estamos atentos a las propuestas presentadas al "Development Hive Fund" (DHF) y nunca como antes, hemos sido sorprendidos con una propuesta que se sale de cualquier tipo de calificación sobre el significado de pedir financiamiento. Por supuesto, los más progresistas nos caerán encima por no "tener corazón" al rechazar exponencialmente, una ¿Propuesta? llamado Hive Community Bank (HCB), el cual no promete otra cosa sino microdréditos. Un servicio que ya presta @rutablockchain con recursos propios. Pero ¿Quien podría ser el hiver detrás de algo así? Lo ignoramos porque tal persona se cobija en el anonimato y ni siquiera es capaz de secundar la propuesta. En cualquier caso, tal atrevimiento nos motivó a dejar sentado, algunas actividades que jamás serán financiadas por el DHF. Antes, por supuesto, también quiero aclarar que usted es libre de hacer la propuesta que le venga en gana, pero piense un poquito antes de hacerla y documéntese sobre el cómo hacerla, antes de poner en juego su reputación.

We’ve spent a lot of time mulling over this post before hitting publish, honestly looking for any excuse to just let it slide. Don’t get us wrong, dear reader, we’re always keeping tabs on the pitches submitted to the Decentralized Hive Fund (DHF), but never before have we been so blindsided by a proposal that completely redefines what it means to ask for funding. Of course, the ultra-progressives will come dragging us for "lacking empathy" because we’re flat-out rejecting a proposal? dubbed the Hive Community Bank (HCB), which brings absolutely nothing new to the table except microloans—a service that @rutablockchain is already running out of their own pocket. But who’s the actual hiver pulling the strings here? We have no clue since this person is hiding behind an anonymous burner account and won’t even step up to back their own proposal. Either way, this kind of boldness pushed us to lay down the law on the specific activities that will absolutely never get funded by the DHF. Before we dive in, though, let’s be clear: you’re totally free to pitch whatever crazy idea you want, but maybe read the room first and do your homework on how to structure a proper proposal before putting your reputation on the line.

HIVE no es un banco. Es una blockchain y el fondo de desarrollo está pensado para financiar propuestas orientadas a la mejora del servicio dentro de la red. Los fondos no son para hacer préstamos o cualquier otra actividad ligada al sector DeFi. Por lo que intentar pedir financiamiento para a su vez, financiar, es un despropósito de marca mayor. Y si no lo creen, pregunten a @danielvehe, quien ya tiene años prestando HBD con recursos propios de @rutablockchain. HIVE no es una beneficencia. Siempre nos sorprende leer propuestas dirigidas a financiar proyectos de mejoras físicas a comunidades alrededor del planeta. Es decir, el hecho de antes haber cometido errores al dirigir recursos para éstas cosas, desvió el rumbo del dinero que debe ser invertido en código. Sí, es muy bonito ayudar, pero algo que debe usted entender es que cada HBD emitido es deuda para la comunidad. Y "regalarlo" en obras de beneficencia jamás mejorará el código de la red. Más aún, cuando ya se acerca el desafío de mejorar la seguridad respecto al descifrado de claves que puede lograr la computación cuántica.

HIVE is not a bank. It’s a blockchain, and the development fund is meant to finance proposals that actually improve the network's ecosystem. The funds aren't there to hand out loans or back any other DeFi-related activities. Trying to ask for funding just so you can turn around and fund something else is a massive facepalm. If you don't believe me, just ask @danielvehe, who’s been handing out HBD out of @rutablockchain's own pocket for years. HIVE is not a charity, either. It always blows our minds to see proposals aiming to fund physical community upgrades across the globe. Look, the fact that we screwed up in the past by burning resources on that stuff doesn't change the fact that it completely derailed the money that should be going straight into code. Sure, helping out sounds amazing, but you need to realize that every single HBD minted is a liability for the community. Giving it away as charity will never optimize the network's code. This is especially true now, with the clock ticking on the massive challenge to upgrade our security against quantum computing key-cracking.

HIVE no financia star-ups. Aunque dolorosamente paradójico, no nos podemos dar el lujo de financiar como antaño, código de programas hechos por terceros, cuando el resultado no está ligado al beneficio entero de la infraestructura blockchain. En el pasado se le ha hecho pensar a los programadores que HIVE es el lugar para atraer sus creaciones de código y en un tiempo, eso fue verdad. Pero ya la madurez llegó a la red y los fondos generan inflación que no puede ser dirigida a proyectos que solo benefician a una parte del ecosistema. Es decir, no todo el mundo juega. No todo el mundo escribe. Así, las cosas, el código resultante de cualquier esfuerzo, debe impactar en los servicios del back-end. Cualquier otra cosa, no será financiada sino demuestra tal objetivo como un absoluto destino del financiamiento.

HIVE is not an incubator for startups. Though it feels painfully ironic, we can no longer afford to throw cash at third-party software like we used to when the end product doesn't directly upgrade the entire blockchain infrastructure. In the past, developers were led to believe that HIVE was a goldmine for their coding side-hustles, and for a while, that was true. But the network has finally grown up, and these funds trigger inflation that simply can't be wasted on project gatekeeping that only benefits a tiny fraction of the ecosystem. Let’s face it, not everyone is a gamer, and not everyone is a blogger. Moving forward, the code resulting from any grind must impact our back-end services. Anything less won't see a dime of funding unless it can prove that this goal is the absolute endgame for that cash injection.

¿Cuales proyectos podrían conseguir fondos? Es difícil saberlo con completa seguridad, dado que el tema ha adquirido ribetes dramáticos y muchos proyectos antes financiados han perdido apoyo, dada la actualidad del mercado cripto. Pero podemos especular diciendo que una de las más urgentes necesidades, están dirigidas a simplificar la experiencia de usuario y facilitar las operaciones dentro de la cadena. Otro muy interesante, sería la reconversión del sistema de claves para actualizarlo, con el fin de evitar hackeos de desencriptación de claves, mediante sistemas de computación cuántico. Programación de agentes IA para reducir brechas de latencia y seguridad, podría ser otro proyecto que recibiría fondos. En fin, hay demasiados desafíos de código, que suponemos recibirían apoyos del HDF, pero su viabilidad y beneficios tienen que ser demostrados en la propuesta. Piense en ello, piense HIVE.

So, what kind of projects could actually score some funding? It’s tough to say for sure, especially since things have gotten pretty cutthroat lately and many formerly funded projects have lost traction due to where the crypto market is at right now. But if we had to guess, one of the most urgent priorities is definitely making the user experience smoother and simplifying on-chain operations. Another super intriguing angle would be overhauling our key system to future-proof it, ensuring we don't get wrecked by quantum computing decryption hacks down the road. Coding AI agents to crush latency gaps and patch up security vulnerabilities could also be a major contender for the bag. Look, there are tons of actual coding challenges out there that we assume the HDF would get behind, but you’ve gotta prove their viability and payoff right in your pitch. Keep that in mind, and think HIVE.
