Beyond Obsession, Let It Land

I spent almost two days working on the first shot of a video, and it still isn’t finished. I kept changing it again and again. Maybe I cared too much about small details, or maybe the APP had its limits. Either way, a simple task became complicated.
I kept telling myself to “keep it simple,” but I couldn’t stop focusing on details. I knew some of them didn’t really matter, yet I still pushed forward, refusing to stop until I hit a wall. This kind of obsession may look like a search for perfection, but in fact, it keeps ideas from becoming real.
Then I realized something: creating is not about getting stuck in details. The smarter choice is to do the simplest thing possible with what you have and move forward in a flexible way. Instead of wasting energy on things you can’t control, it’s better to let the idea take shape first and leave some details unclear. Leaving space is not careless—it gives room for imagination and can bring more life and beauty.
Being perfect inside obsession is not always true perfection. In the end, a piece of work is never judged by one person alone.
