As AI becomes more common, many parents feel worried. They fear that too much screen time may affect their children’s learning. At the same time, they worry that AI may replace many jobs in the future, and they don’t know how their children should prepare. But after watching my seven-year-old nephew, I feel this worry may be unnecessary.
These days, my nephew often talks to AI on his phone. He first became curious about the history of trains, then airplanes and cars. One day, he told his grandma very seriously, “Everything has a history.”
Since then, whenever he sees something new—snacks, robots, or things adults talk about—he asks AI, “What’s its history?” AI suggests videos, and he watches them with real interest. He also asks AI to tell stories and answer questions. They interact easily and naturally.
There is no fear or resistance. Children seem to know instinctively how to live with smart technology. To him, AI is not a distraction. It’s a curious friend and a helpful teacher.
This generation is born into the digital world. They will learn to grow with technology in their own way.
We don’t need to worry too much. Let them explore. May every child keep their curiosity and grow into who they are meant to be.
