The Pathway To The Future
While growing up, there is a song we usually sing in junior secondary school during our assembly sessions. There is a point I want to pick from the song and the song goes like this:
“Parents, listen to your children.
We are the leaders of tomorrow.
Try to pay our school fee.
And give us a song education.”
After going through the digi prompt for the week, this was the first song that came ringing in my mind, and the part of the song that got me is the
We are the leaders of tomorrow.
And give us a song education.
Creating a pathway for the future of our children is in the hands of the parent because most times we know better, and we are to choose better for our kids. The world is fast growing and we are in a world where money itself has been digitized, so if we are not ready to help lead our children on a pathway that will help them blend in easily with the future the current generation is building, then we are setting them on a pathway that might lead to their destruction.
As a parent, I would pay a lot of attention to my children and show them a lot of tech skills. One thing is that I would never impose anything on them but I would watch where they excel more and guide them on a path that can earn them a good education and future. Remember, our children are the leaders of tomorrow so we have the responsibility to give them a sound education.
There are so many online courses available for kids and young adults; there is no harm in allowing them to take courses online during their holiday and free time. When it's time for fun, I won't stop them from having fun but I'll let them know the impact of having such skills at a young age.
I recently applied for a course in an online school, and I'm happy things are going well.
I hope my application goes well and my course will last for 9 months. It's going to be a tough journey because I have to work, earn, and learn at the same time. This is not something I would want for my kids, which is why they would have to learn it on time so their future can be better and they can choose whatever path they want for themselves.
Thanks for reading. Currently, you are the leaders of tomorrow also, so learn that skill now and get better. My name is Fashtioluwa.

This was such an inspiring reflection. I love how you tied in that childhood song -it really sets the tone for what this post is all about: the responsibilities we carry in shaping the next generation. You're absolutely right about that our children are the leaders of tomorrow and helping them build digital and tech skills early on is no longer optional -it's essential
I also admire your approach of guiding your kids based on their individual strengths instead of imposing a fixed path. That's a thoughful and empowering way to raise future-ready leaders. wishing you all the best with your 9months online course -it's amazing to see you leading by example. Keep going strong 👐🙌
