The Forgotten Exam Pass: Lessons in Resilience and Preparation. A Real Life Story.
I am not fond of forgetting things that are not important, but you see the important ones, oh Lord, I will forget it like I forget my...
Anyway, I am not too forgetful, but there was a day I forgot something important that almost cost me my academics, and I'm sure many people who come across this blog will have experienced this one in their lifetime. (People that went to school)
Before I tell you what happened, I would like to introduce myself to you all. My name is Fashtioluwa, Hive's favorite alien and writer. Mars visitor on earth. Now let's start.
On that fateful day, the sun was shining, and I was filled with a mix of excitement and nerves as I prepared for my first exam in school. It was my first time writing an exam in my polytechnic; I was ready to give my best. As a fresher, I already finished reading my textbook, so the exam had nothing on me. Little did I know that the exam in higher institutions is different from the exam in high school.
The exam was about to start; the invigilators were already walking into the exam hall, but there was a woman at the entrance requesting an exam pass before we were allowed to go into the hall. I remember I had mine, but it wasn't in my pocket, so I rushed to my bag; my heart sank when I reached in and realized that I had forgotten my exam pass at home. Panic set in as I frantically searched through my belongings, hoping that somehow it would magically appear. But the reality was staring me in the face—I had forgotten a crucial document that would grant me entry into the exam hall.
Time seemed to slow down as the realization sank in that I would miss the beginning of the exam. I walked towards the woman with puppy eyes, hoping she would understand the predicament that had befallen me.
"Good morning, ma," I said to her, but she looked at me with an angry face; she wasn't even smiling, which made me even more scared.
"What do you want? she said.
"I forgot my pass at home; I swear this is the first time." Before I could finish talking, she asked me to go back home and get it. (Evil at its peak)
The journey back home felt like an eternity; emotions like frustration, anxiety, and a tinge of embarrassment filled me. When I finally reached home and laid my hands on the exam pass, at that moment, the flash wasn't as fast as I was on that day.
20 minutes or more had already passed when I got to the exam hall; I was sweating and out of breath when I got there. I look at the woman with the pass on my hand before she allowed me in. In my mind, I was like, "My God will judge you."
Ever since that day, I always make sure the pass is with me, and I check three times before leaving home. Such a mistake never repeated itself because I had learned my lesson. While that day will always serve as a reminder of the consequences of forgetfulness, it also taught me valuable lessons in resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying calm under pressure.

Oops, sorry about that. I had never forgotten my exams card before, it's one of the first things I always pick before stepping out of my room anytime I have an exam to write. If I was the one in your shoes that day, I would have missed the examination because my house is kilometres away from school. Thanks to God your situation ended well.
Omo, this happens a lot o but mine was with another document and not the exam pass. I believe no one likes to forget something important because it stings.
Very true and those of invigilators done like to hear anything
