HN-WK104: Up Nepa.

Hello people, welcome to my blog.

Whenever it rains in our community, electric supply becomes an expensive commodity that can be accessed only through connection. Infact, it is believed that the electric supplying company do not bother to restore or supply light for twenty four hours after it most have rained. If you ask anyone around, the response you will hear is won n sa waya which means (they are sun-drying the electric cables).

It was during one of those periods, the light had been out for more than five days,I had exhausted all the water in the water storage and no hope of getting water from anywhere as our generator was faulty and all the well around are not clean.

I became frustrated and unexpected angry, it was going to be weekend in the next few hours and we will need to use a lot of water. We have load of clothes waiting for laundry, floor to mop, kitchen to deep clean and a lot of hand raising to do over the weekend.

I was supposed to call the generator engineer right? Humm my phone was off due to power outages. Everything was just somehow on that day. When I could no longer bear it, I just went to lay on the bed maybe a miracle will happen through my sleep.

After spending about thirty minutes in bed, I felt this sudden brightness on my face , there it was our highly respected electric supply, shining like one o'clock sun in the second month of a new year.

That movements, the joy I felt was out of this world.
The sleep and tiredness instantly left my body, I ran to the socket to plug my phone so it will charge, ran outside to put on the water pumping machine, to the store to on the freezer, bought out some pepper to blend using the electric blender before returning inside to do some laundry.

When I started washing, I washed the uniforms and spin them first then i ironed them before hanging them while I continue to wash other clothes. The electric supply lasted for just two hours but I used it as if it lasted a whole week. I felt fulfilled when the supply was seized because at least, I did more than half of what was getting me angry.

Most importantly, water is available so they rest of the chores can be done manually. Welcome to my world Check point Badagry.
