RE: Monday ‘Shrooms! 🍄‍🟫……..My Actifit Report Card: October 27 2025

The Bloodgood tree is a beautiful tree any time of year. However, it becomes even more on fire in the fall, unless there is an off year for color. I am hoping given the color it is right now, that even better color is yet to come!

We have 2 generators; one big enough to run the well and the hot water heater-the whole house really, and a smaller one to run the lights and things to give the bigger one a break. We keep around 5 gallons of gasoline for them and the bigger one runs on propane as well. So we have 3-30 pound tanks for it as well as your typical 20 pound tank, like you'd have with a gas grill.

Our power outages can last for days. I think the longest we've gone has bee either 4 or 5 days without. The trees have shallow roots and the maples are not known for being a sturdy tree when they get ginormous. They often have cavities within the trunk, making them weak and susceptible to high winds, which we get often in the fall, winter and spring. We've lived here long enough and know the ropes of the seasons, so being prepared saves you losing all the food in the fridge and freezer, plus makes taking a shower wonderful! Our heat is our wood stove, so no worries there either.
