Do I Have To Go Back To Work? 😔…….My Actifit Report Card: August 4 2026

Happy Tuesday everyone! Today also happens to be our oldest son’s birthday as well! He’s getting up there, lol! 😁

Today was also what I originally thought would be the last ladies Bible study until September, however now it looks like there will be a week in late August and one just after Labor Day in September instead. September?! Really, where has the year gone?

We had lunch together after the Bible study and then a quick stop at the library and post office and then headed for home. It’s super smoky here due to the wildfires in eastern Washington and parts of Canada. My heart goes out to all affected, but especially those in Spokane where they’ve arrested a man for intentionally setting that fire that is apparently still 0% contained. Why would anyone do that?! So sad! 😢

We went to Lynden to get some gas and a couple things from the store. The smoke is better there than at our house in the foothills. I’m thinking it’s piling up against the mountains due to the prevailing westerly winds. It it completely obscuring the mountains no matter which direction you look.

A sad situation indeed!

Tomorrow is Wednesday-hump day for most. For me it’s both hump day and my Monday rolled into one. Do I really have to go back to work? The past 5 days of no work has been nice, and it hardly seems like it’s been 5 days. I never get to take a vacation and haven’t had one in 12 years. I’ve come to the conclusion that when I do retire, I’ll need a month of doing pretty much nothing before I map out a retirement routine. Then I’ll be more structured once that first month is done. 😎👍

Phoenix has settled into a good routine-not what Bill and Agi do with her, but that’s the beauty of grandparents-spoil ‘em and then return ‘em afterwards. The parents get to deal with the fallout! 😁

I just discovered we have a raccoon possibly residing here. I generally don’t mind wildlife however, they have been known to carry rabies and can be somewhat destructive. I’d prefer he just move on thank you!

BSB Romans 11:17-24

Now if some branches have been broken off, and you, a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others to share in the nourishment of the olive root, do not boast over those branches. If you do, remember this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” That is correct: They were broken off because of unbelief, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He will certainly not spare you either.
Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut from a wild olive tree, and contrary to nature were grafted into one that is cultivated, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
