The Land Of Giants?……. My Actifit Report Card: April 12 2026

(Edited)

This afternoon, we went down to Riverside Park. It’s the first time since the major flood of this past December and two minor floods since. The landscape has changed dramatically! There was never a debris pile THAT big before. It was as if a giant had just threw a bunch of sticks-aka huge trees on the shore! Most of the spots of sandy beaches were replaced by total river rock with some sand. It gives you an idea of just how powerful the force of nature is!

There is a bridge that spans the river in Everson.

Upon closer inspection-get a look at how high the debris pile was at the bridge! A couple more feet or so and the debris might have been forced onto the bridge! Crazy!

The river rock is always interesting to me. We have a volcanic geological history and there are so many variances in what gets pushed down the river.

I especially like the lines and color variations of this next one.

Then every once in a while, you run across a one of a kind rock……

A different perspective on this view.

The rock circled in red looks almost like a sandwich sticking out. There are vivid red rocks and up to white marble looking ones. If I had a rock tumbler…….

We did start our day at church. We had a guest pastor as our regular guy was out with his family for a much needed spring break. The guest pastor did a lovely job in bringing us the Word.

One last river pic……. I found this in one little spot of sandy beach…….

That’s gonna be it for today. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

BSB John 21:1-14

Later, by the Sea of Tiberias, Jesus again revealed Himself to the disciples. He made Himself known in this way: Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. Simon Peter told them, “I am going fishing.”
“We will go with you,” they said. So they went out and got into the boat, but caught nothing that night.
Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not recognize that it was Jesus. So He called out to them, “Children, do you have any fish?”
“No,” they answered.
He told them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it there, and they were unable to haul it in because of the great number of fish.
Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it) and jumped into the sea. The other disciples came ashore in the boat. They dragged in the net full of fish, for they were not far from land, only about a hundred yards.
When they landed, they saw a charcoal fire there with fish on it, and some bread.
Jesus told them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” So Simon Peter went aboard and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many, the net was not torn.
“Come, have breakfast,” Jesus said to them. None of the disciples dared to ask Him, “Who are You?” They knew it was the Lord. Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and He did the same with the fish.
This was now the third time that Jesus appeared to the disciples after He was raised from the dead.

This weekend felt too short.
And I didn't go to the Home Depot garden nursery as I planned.
Have a productive work week sis.

Thanks sis! I didn't get to look at flowers either even though I could have revisited Walmart's garden center. Had too much other stuff to do. There's still plenty of time for us to garden though. Maybe next weekend!

Take care sis and have a lovely week! !BBH

It was indeed, God! and yes, He is the Master of it all! It did my heart good to come upon where someone had written His name in the sand.

It's a bit crazy what the force of the river can do! It would take a crane to move some of those trees!

Much love to ya sis! 🤗😘😍❤️🌹 !HOPE !INDEED !LOLZ

Rivers have such power. Every time the big rain comes, they change so much around. And if humans are on top of that unaware enough to take the trees from the riverside, then the river can rampage even more freely, pulling away more sand. Erosion is no toy!

It is a mighty force for sure! We actually found a riding lawnmower that the river stole from somewhere and it ended up on the sandbar there where we were. See @silvertop's post for that picture.

During the December flood, there was a picture posted of a hot tub headed downstream as well. A couple of weeks later, someone spotted it in Bellingham Bay, so it made it out to sea! Crazy!

Take care and thanks for stopping by! !LADY
