When Music speaks to the Soul

source

This post was inspired by my recent entry in the We Are Alive Friday contest, where I shared my thoughts on Michael Jackson’s Earth Song. But here, I just want to go deeper into how music, in general, touches the soul and brings healing. Sometimes we focus too much on winning or contests, but this is something I truly feel and wanted to share.

There are some days when everything feels heavy. Life gets loud, confusing, and a little too fast. In those moments, I’ve found that music speaks louder than any voice, and softer than any silence. It’s a strange kind of comfort, how just a melody or a few lyrics can reach the parts of you that even you forgot existed.

Music has a way of healing, in a quiet and powerful way. It's not always about dancing or vibing, sometimes, it’s about finally feeling heard, even when no one’s around. It enters your heart without asking for permission, and it stays long after the song ends.

When I listened to Earth Song, something shifted in me. I know the post I made about it for the contest was more about the message of that specific song, but the truth is, it made me reflect more deeply on music in general. That song is not just sound, it's a cry, a wake-up call. And I realized music has been doing that for centuries. Speaking when we can’t. Crying when we hold back. Healing when nothing else works.

What I love most about music is how it doesn't discriminate. It doesn’t ask where you're from, how much you’ve achieved, or what you've been through. It just enters your space and becomes whatever you need it to be in that moment. For some, it’s joy. For others, it’s peace. For me, many times, it’s therapy.

There are days when I don't even know what I’m feeling. Maybe stress, sadness, or just emptiness. And then I put on a song, any song that fits my mood, and it’s like someone finally understands. I don’t have to explain, or talk it out. The song just gets me. That feeling is rare, and that’s why I say music speaks to the soul.

Some songs carry messages so deep, they’re more than entertainment. They’re lessons, warnings, encouragements, and even prayers. Earth Song was like that for me, but I know everyone has their own personal song that hits that deep spot. It could be a love song, a worship song, or even an old one your parents used to play in the background when life felt easier.

Music is also one of the few things that still connects people. In a world full of arguments and division, music remains something we can all agree on. Different tastes, different sounds, but one universal language. It can pull people together from different walks of life and make us feel like we belong somewhere, even for just a few minutes.

If I’m being honest, I don’t think I could survive without music. It’s been there in the background of both my best and worst days. It’s helped me grieve, helped me love, helped me grow. And sometimes, it helped me keep going when nothing else did.

I’m not writing this to preach or sound deep. I’m just sharing what’s real for me. Music has been like a mirror to my soul, showing me things I didn’t even know were inside.

So if you’re going through something, or even if you’re not, take time and really listen. Don’t just hear the beat. Feel it. Let the music speak. Sometimes, it says exactly what we need to hear.

It's amazing how you described the power of music, and I totally agree with you.
It has that ability to enter our lives without asking permission and become a refuge, a form of expression that sometimes we ourselves do not understand.
Music truly connects, heals, and reminds us that we are not alone, even in the darkest of times.

When it is full-blown diabetes, there is no coming back. The managements are intended to keep the disease under control and prevent its complications.

However, if someone is pre-diabetic, measures can reverse the condition and prevent the development of full-blown diabetes. 150 minutes of exercise per week is one of such measures.
