Hello.

I like coins because their design is great, and so is the history they embody. I don't like the conquistadors; I prefer the liberators. The Spanish, raiding other lands in search of fortune, remind me of the Vikings when they went out to plunder.

Nice post, my friend. 😀

The Europeans, especially the Spanish, plundered the new world for treasure. But all done in the name of religion... Supposedly... Greed had far more to do with it in the end in my opinion. The conquistadors were a bunch of violent brutes who wiped out civilizations, but since they were the winners they got to write the history. It's sad really...

Simón Bolívar and the others really fought to free themselves of the Spanish, and that's why they are the heroes of so many Latin American countries today. I lived in South America for several years, so I know a lot about the history!
