Wednesday walk in Cairo and visit to the National Museum

Hello everyone! I spent a few days in Cairo and today I will describe to you the day I spent walking and sightseeing in the city. I came out of the hotel early in the morning and noticed a great crowd and heat, and the sun had just risen. The streets were full of cars and pedestrians were crossing wherever they arrived, I didn't notice a pedestrian crossing anywhereL

The thing I don't start my day without is breakfast. They were selling pastries on every corner. So I bought some and left. First I walked through the streets of Cairo. There were many modern and old buildings, mosques. People were rushing to work, and tourists, like me, were stopping to take photos.

From there I headed towards the banks of the Nile. A great river, which until then I had only known from books and documentaries. I took a ticket for a shorter voyage and boarded a boat. As the boat glided along the water, I looked at the banks. On one side I saw modern hotels and restaurants, and on the other old buildings and green palm trees. Our guide is a beautiful woman from Serbia who has lived in Cairo for years. She told us about the Nile as a symbol of life that allowed people to survive in the desert.

After the cruise, I headed to the Egyptian National Museum, one of Cairo's most famous attractions. I walked through halls filled with ancient Egyptian artifacts. I saw statues of pharaohs, sarcophagi, jewelry, and objects they used thousands of years ago. I was most fascinated by the collection from Tutankhamun's tomb

I read the inscriptions and explanations, looked at the hieroglyphs carved on the stone slabs. The museum was full of tourists.
After the museum, I decided to visit a perfume factory. When I entered, I was greeted by the scents of jasmine, lotus, and sandalwood. The guide explained that the Egyptians used oils and perfumes not only for beauty but also in religious ceremonies. They showed us the process of making perfumes – from distilling herbs and flowers to mixing different notes. This is a factory that makes alcohol-free oil perfumes. The most famous is Cleopatra's Perfume. Of course, I bought one for my wife.

As I walked back to the hotel, I thought about everything I had seen and experienced. In just one day, I walked through the streets of modern and old Cairo, sailed on the Nile, visited a museum that preserves the entire history of ancient civilization, and smelled the scents of a perfume factory. Every new trip is a new experience for me and something new to learn. I hope you enjoyed my trip.

By just watching this, I can imagine the heat there... I mean, here where I live we can stand the hot temperature, imagine living next to the dessert...
