Wednesday, nature walk in Macedonia PEKŠČEVO - Crnodolski waterfall
This Wednesday I decided to spend a day in Macedonia, a country that borders Serbia and has very friendly people, in the town of Pehčevo, known for its natural springs and waterfalls. In the early hours of the morning, I arrived in a small town located in the eastern part of the country, near the border with Bulgaria. Pehčevo is surrounded by forests and mountainous areas, and from there paths lead to several waterfalls, among which is the Crnodolski waterfall, my goal for the day.

I started from the center of Pehcevo on the footpath that leads to the village of Crnik, and then on to Crnodolski potok. The road is well marked, and along the path there are information boards indicating the direction and distance. Walking at a leisurely pace, I followed the course of the stream that occasionally disappeared among the rocks and then reappeared in narrow canyons. In several places I saw small wooden bridges, made to facilitate crossing to the other bank.

After about an hour of walking, I came across a small plateau where there was a wooden bench and a sign with the inscription "Crnodolski Vopad". From that place, the path descended more steeply, through low forest and rocks, while the sound of water could already be heard in the distance. When I reached the end of the trail, I saw the Crnodolski Waterfall in front of me. The water was cascading down a rock about ten meters high and flowing into a natural pool that formed below. There were several large stones around the waterfall. So I sat down there to rest a bit. And it had been raining all day.At that moment, I saw several visitors also descending to the waterfall, mostly local mountaineers and tourists. We exchanged a few sentences about the trail, the weather, and other places in the area. I learned that there are several other smaller waterfalls nearby – Pančarevski, Ravnički, and Spikovski, which can also be reached on foot.

After a short rest, I decided to explore the upper part of the stream. I climbed up the bank, following a small trail that led to the place where the water starts to fall. There I could clearly see how the stream makes a sharp drop between two rocks, before descending into the valley. The rain started to fall harder. I took a few photos and returned to the main road.

On the way back, I stopped at the viewpoint above Pehčevo. From here, you can see the valley and the surrounding hills, and in the distance, you can see forest roads leading to other natural sites. I rested on one of the benches, drank some water, and wrote down a few notes about today's walk.I stopped in Pehčevo and had lunch at a restaurant. The food was excellent. I drank some hot tea because I was freezing and headed for Serbia.

Thank you for reading my post. All the best
Dragan
