Picking fruits and vegetables in my garden!
Hello everyone! Today is the day when I pick what is ripe in my garden. Harvesting in my garden and is always a special experience. That moment when the fruits ripen is the crowning glory of my efforts throughout the year. Every leaf, every branch and in my yard bears the mark of my work and attention, which is why I experience the harvest with great excitement and satisfaction. I think you feel the same way.
I start with the vegetable garden. Tomatoes, red and juicy, I carefully choose the ripest ones, put them in the basket and already feel that they will make the most beautiful salad. Zucchini are also ready to pick. The smaller ones are the tastiest, so I choose them, while leaving a few larger ones for filling. Peppers produced well this year, there are a variety of them: red, green, yellow, and even a few hot ones
I can't skip the cucumbers either. I usually find them hidden under the leaves and pick the smallest ones to put in jars. The green beans have produced a lot, I have several varieties and they are the hardest for me to pick. My wife usually picks them. A little corn for cooking and baking.
I planted a little onion, but that's enough when there's some. The hot peppers from the plastic containers brought their second crop, so we harvested them too.
Also some red potatoes, which we especially love in a stir-fry.
Other vegetables have to wait, like cabbage, cauliflower, eggplant...At the end of the day, when I fill my baskets with vegetables and I feel tired, but also satisfied. I imagine the winter that will come – jars of ajvar, jams, juices, and pickles. We roasted and peeled the peppers the same day. We left them overnight to drain and the next day we ground them and cooked our most famous specialty AJVAR.
I hope you liked my post. Have a nice day everyone
What a beautiful harvest.
Yeah, nothing grows right away. Agriculture is a good analogy for life. Between sowing and harvesting, there are many paths to take and time to wait.
Yes, if you have the means, it would be a shame not to plant something. My niece grows vegetables in the garden beds on the terrace in the center of Norrköping, Sweden.
I can't. I live on the sixth floor of a building in the city center.
In the near future, I'll fulfill my dream of living in a village and being able to farm like that.
I lived in a building , and now I wonder how I survived haha. Now I have my own yard, a property, but this is life
Wow! Nice harvest! All your hard work really paid off. fresh veggies and homemade ajvar sounds delicious. Good job on your garden.
Thanks
Growing food is an art, and it's clear that you love it. You're right, the harvest is the result of what is done in the field. These foods certainly have a unique flavor.
That's right, I love good food and I love growing it myself.
Is ajvar being prepared ? Would you like to share the recipe for ajvar?
Roasted red peppers 12 kg
1 liter oil
6 tablespoons salt
6 tablespoons sugar
4 tablespoons essence.
Pour the ground peppers into the hot oil and add the other ingredients and cook for at least 3 hours until thick. I also add 5 kg of roasted eggplant.
You really have a fruitful harvest, good to see all of them, take care!
Thanks
