This Pickle is a Big Dill

Firstly sorry for the bad pun but it is true. The upcoming release of Yaba’s Pickle is a really big deal for splinterlands, in both the actual card and the easily accessible cost and release nature of the card to all players. The use of the sale to bring together

Firstly the card.

As a weapons trainable unit Yaba’s Pickle 🥒 doesn't obviously pair well with Archmage Yabanius but there are plenty more options in Rebellion and Conclave Arcana to use it with.

The card itself is a tribute of sort to the weapon held by yabapmatt’s Runi and gives us all the chance to hold Yaba’s pickle!

Looking at the abilities at for the levels I normally play at, high intermediate/low advanced, depending on my available Archon we get dodge and shield which fits well in the water element and I’ll definitely be pairing with Daarg Deadblast.

The Phases of the SPS Snapshot & Arcane Event Series

The date of the snapshot hasn't yet been announced but at the point it happens you will be eligible to buy 1 'Yaba's Pickle' card for every 1,000 staked SPS. For me personally, at this moment, this gives me 60 possible cards (I hold 60,015sps at present) in the first phase.

The Card Release phase will give chances at Regular, Gold and Black Foil cards in the Exclusive Shop for 30 days, each Regular card will be available for the price of 150 DEC or 150 Credits and Gold/Black Foil will only be available in this part of the sale.

On these purchases Alchemy and Midnight Potions will increase your chances of Gold and Black foil cards respectively.

• Gold Foil (2% drop rate, boosted to 4% with Alchemy Potions)
• Black Foil (1 in 4,000 drop rate, boosted to 1 in 2,000 with Midnight Potions)

The 2nd Chance Special opportunity provides everyone (irrelevant of staked SPS) the chance to pick up a pickle, 7 days after the end of the previous phase we will be given the opportunity to enter a daily raffle draw for 50 days, each day a winner will receive a Gold Foil Arcane version of the card, each raffle entry will also provide a regular version of the card (with no chance of Gold or Black Foil).

The cost of crafting a raffle ticket is 200 Aura, 10 Vouchers and 200 DEC, but no need to worry if you don't have land as people will be selling them on the non card market just like Midnight Potions. Tickets will be burned on entry and you can submit as many tickets to the raffle as you would like. Finally the draws will give the highest number Gold Foil Arcane (50) first and the number 1 mint last.

The Black Foil Arcane Auction will then occur within 7 days of the end of the Gold Foil Raffle, 20 Black Foil Arcane will be auctioned in a similar way to Heloise the Hollow but this time will require crafted Auction Points made from 1000 Aura, 50 Vouchers, and 500 DEC. Running for 25 hours the 21 days of auctions will also end in the number 1 mint.

The auction will be a bit out of my league! My personal approach will be to get the 60 cards in line with my staked SPS then see if I have the DEC to enter the raffle for 40 more, as I expect the tickets will be going for around 250-300 DEC providing a profit for those crafting them. Obviously I may get lucky in the first phase and get a black foil so let the fun begin!
