Today, April 27th, marks three years since I first saw him behind a glass at the Meliá Marina Varadero hotel. In that moment, I knew I wanted him by my side for the rest of my life. For our anniversary, I wanted to give him something that transcends the material, something no one else could ever give him.
In June, we will celebrate three years together. He is my greatest treasure: my husband, the father of our son, my life partner, my friend… and my favorite little troublemaker. At 25, he is the man I have loved the most, the one whose gaze can always make time stand still.
While many people give chocolates, flowers, or objects that fade with time, I wanted to give him something eternal. Something that, every time he looks at the sky, he knows I am there for him. I wanted to give him a star.
He is a Libra, born on October 18th, and using the Stellarium app, we found his constellation. There, on the edge of Libra, I discovered the perfect star: Theta Librae. It doesn’t have an official certificate, but for me, it’s my way of saying that no one else will ever give him a star like this—only me.
This star is more than just a point of light in the sky. It’s a reminder of our love, of our connection, that I will always be by his side, even if he can’t touch it. Every time he looks at it, I want him to remember that there is someone who loves him deeply, who chose him, and will keep choosing him every day of his life.
I don’t need a piece of paper to prove it; it’s enough that he knows this star belongs to him in spirit, just as my heart does.
Theta Librae (Θ Librae) is one of the stars in the constellation of Libra, and although Libra is not as spectacular at first glance as Orion or Scorpius, each star has its own interest. Theta Librae, specifically, is classified as a yellow giant, which means it is in an advanced stage of its evolution: it has exhausted the hydrogen in its core and is now burning helium and other heavier elements.
Regarding its visibility, it is not one of the brightest stars, but it can be located with a small telescope or even binoculars from dark skies. It is relatively close, in astronomical terms, at about 130 light-years from Earth. Studying it is interesting because yellow giants like Theta Librae help us understand how medium-sized stars evolve and how they will eventually end their life cycles.
