This Is Me: My Introductory Post

Hello everyone.
My name is Diadem George. I am happy to be here, and I look forward to connecting, contributing, and exchanging ideas, stories, and experiences.

I’m Nigerian, from Edo State (Benin), and my mum is from Kabba in Kogi State. You could say I carry a blend of cultures and perspectives that shape how I see life. I enjoy reading and writing, and I also love meeting new people and learning from their stories.

I’m currently a year four student of agricultural economics and extension services at the University of Benin. My journey hasn’t followed a straight path, but it has been meaningful and full of lessons.
One of the things I truly love doing is writing in my journal, just sitting quietly, reflecting on life, and putting my thoughts into words. One evening, while sitting at my small table in my one-room off-campus apartment, I found myself smiling as I wrote about turning twenty-five on the sixteenth of this month. It wasn’t a special or dramatic moment, just a calm pause filled with gratitude.

Growing up, my health slowed me down a little, so life and school sometimes had to move at a gentler pace. I spent time in and out of hospitals, which meant my education experienced a few pauses along the way. Because of this, I graduated from high school at twenty and gained admission into the university at twenty-two. It wasn’t always easy, especially financially, but we kept moving forward step by step.

During those slower seasons, reading and writing became my comfort and safe space. They helped me stay grounded, hopeful, and expressive when words were otherwise hard to share.
My mum has been a strong pillar in my life. She stood by me through every season, encouraged me constantly, and never stopped believing in my future, even when I doubted myself. Her faith, prayers, and strength shaped the confidence I carry today.

Before gaining admission into the university, I also worked as a home lesson teacher for children. It was an experience I truly enjoyed. Teaching those adorable kids taught me patience, gentleness, and the importance of understanding people at their own pace. It was a season that quietly shaped me.

University life opened my eyes in many ways. I made friends, learned to believe in myself, and discovered that my situation does not define me. I chose agriculture because I believe in its power and purpose, and I proudly say I am among those feeding the world. I am particularly interested in integrated organic farm tech and look forward to building something meaningful in that space.

Today, I am simply grateful for growth, lessons, resilience, and the opportunity to keep becoming better. I am grateful for the chance to begin this journey here with openness and purpose always.

I was introduced to the Hive Blockchain by a friend, @somuchgrace, and I am very excited that she did, and I am also ready to learn, earn, and grow too.
THANK YOU.
