Working On Construction Site - A Day At Work

How are you today? We have a heavy rain today however in the last few days, the weather have been quite nice here. The rain only lasted for a few hours, not like a few weeks ago which could go for days.

Recently I made a post about how I liked the scenery of the place I was working on. The place was very wonderful too me because it did not have high rise buildings and no powerlines at sight. However there are actually some high rise there but on different side. Later on this post you will see it.

Working in this area is easy and comfortable, only if you can go with the flow. I have no office, no chair and desk, all I do is monitoring workers, manage the logistic, and try anything I could do to speed up work completion.

The project construction site is entering the finishing stage. So at a glance everything looks almost finished, but the finishing phase is actually not that simple, sometime it gives heavy headache.

Materials and goods are coming in, stored everywhere, and even we produce something, the result is not directly visible. So clients often get mad at us, thinking we are just playing around here.

Talking about materials, sometime I buy and bring in the materials by myself. For most people here, and I think the same for most south east asian people, this is dumb. This is low wage job, I should not do this by myself, it is downgrading my car and myself.

My family often complain and crying seeing I do this dumb moves. I can only think one thing, why would I pay $50 or $100 just to send materials that are cheaper than the delivery cost? and why would I pay that money if I can do that for free?

Anyway, I am just a dumb person in the eyes of most people here. let it be that way, I am a realistic person anyway, I see no point paying more money just to be looked as a person having a good and neat job.

I saw my workers there, and that day it was one of them last day of working. I did not like people who encouraged other to do bad thing for the sake of ease of works.

I do not like people who talk a lot during their work, coming to other just to chit chat. They do not get pay for talking and laughing. And the most thing I dislike about him, he encourage others not to use their safety equipment.

We work there everyday until the site is completely finished, and we work till night. We need to catch up schedule, it has to be completed before the Chinese New Year. I have 8 people working there and sadly only 3 of them work till night.

Most of Gen Z workers are a bit strange, they want money but they do not want to get tired. They always talk about human right, treat people better, and work life balance stuff. When it comes to payday, they complain and can only envy to their friends who have worked long hours because those people get a lot more than them.

About things I have been doing in this site, some of them are confidential so I could only share some shots here that are safe to be shared. The last picture was a few days ago, when I walked to my car to come home... at 20:00, I came home a bit earlier that day.
