Sometime You End Up Winning A Battle You Supposed To Lose

Welcome to my weekly Splinterlands post. This time I want to share a funny condition in some battles, where you should lose it but somehow someway you end up winning the battle.

I am not talking about win trading or rigged match where the other party intentionally forfeit it by setting up a lousy line up, but it is the battle that you believe you are losing, you get countered, or you just fucked up in any possible way, but you still end up winning in a weird way.

Everyone who have played splinterlands for months might have experienced it several times. So let's jump in to this battle that I pick as the reference.

I pick this battle from modern Silver Rank battle. This was one of the battle that I had no clue what to deploy due to some limitation in my line up. When the battle started and I saw my opponent's line up, I knew instantly that I got fucked up here.

This was exactly a battle I would click skip battle and expected a lose, which later it turned out to be a win. So let me explain here why it's all mess up here.

1. 35 mana cap and I did not have any idea how to get 6 units

It was weird that time, but I really had no idea how to develop 6 units team for that battle. Maybe I became stupid and got fixated with the sharky in front and that sandworm wannabe on the behind.

I believe some of you can understand what I am saying above, sometime we have this brain freeze and make our mind so dull and have no idea what to do lol.

2. Modifier exploitation

Collateral Damage is one of the modifier that I dislike a lot. It gives a feel that you need to have the hard hitters only because everytime you move you will hurt your own allies.

I forfeit that thought and decide to play as if it was no modifier at all, but look at my opponent units there...

He put in two units with painforge ability. He was really all in for the modifier or ruleset. Why didn't I do the same? well I did not have those two in my line up. I haven't got any units with painforge ability in my line up that day.

To put it worse, they even prepared for the damage delivered by the reckless ability from the collateral damage modifier. They had that Deep Delver, with the corrupted healing ability. It was the perfect ability to recover everyone in the line up, because everyone were definitely taking collateral damage.

3. My Attack Was Anticipated

I brought Chaos Evoler and Ujurak Elder was my magic attackers. I needed second type attack incase they had a unit with shield ability which would ate my melee attacks.

But it turned out their tank had prepared my magic attack with that void ability.

Everything looked bad for my side, as if all were wrapped. I did not come with a good line up, my opponent prepared everything for the rulesets, my meta got anticipated... Definitely it looked bad and maybe the worst.

THE RESULT

I would not share a battle that I lost, so you could expect this was a win. But see the process and you can say some opinion and comments later.

As expected, the first round was a bloodbath and my team lost two units. They lost a unit, so it was still a net loss to my side.

3 units vs 5 units, and 2 of my units had 1 health point only lol. I could not see it could go worse.

Maybe because it could not go worse, it stayed like that. The third round the condition became 1 vs 4. I had the last unit there Grove Doomblade or what I often called as Sandworm wannabe lol.

But this was the interesting one, somehow they got crumbled due to the reckless ability.

Round 4 became the last one. I won this battle by a very thin margin. Good Game guys lol.

So what did go wrong in this battle?

From my side, if you just confused what to deploy, or you get brain fog or brain freeze, trust the units you believe the most. In this part, I have three units I trust the most, Drybone Megalodon - Chaos Evoker - Grove Doomblade. Do not surrender at all, sometime shit thing happens to your opponent lol.
