Same Health Squad Meta

Hello Fellow Splinterlands Summoners

Welcome to my Splinterlands post again, this is one of my posts for the Splinterlands Community engagement challenge. Everyweek we are challenged to share our tactic, strategy or meta when we are playing this awesome game.

This time I will share my meta which I call it same health squad. I used to play by making a line up that everyone has the same health. Before I show you the battle and how it works, let me share you a story from the past.

Years ago, I liked to play using this Chain Spinner card from life element. I believed this card was a great one, I played with it a lot and win a lot, however my friends mostly disagreed with me. They saw this card as a useless one.

A tank with fix 3 health points only, very vulnerable. Once he got poisoned, he would be a goner. Cleanse would not help, he died first lol.

Well I agreed with that arguement, he was very vulnerable against poison, but it was the sole weakness he had in the defense. There was a trait in him that people failed to see. Due to his low health point, all opportunity attacks would be drawed onto him, so the backline was safe, only could be attacked by snipe and sneak attacks.

The same health squad meta is developed by that logic, it is by making the tank as the lowest HP unit. We could not pick a low HP unit as a tank, because he would die first and we lost due to having a bad tank.

However we could get higher health point units as the backline, so all attacks would be directed to the main tank, except if the opponent has a sneak attack or a snipe attack.

The idea of same health stands for a condition that it is very difficult to get units that have higher health point than a good tank, so the best we could do is to set all backline with the same health points.

So let me share you one of my battle with this meta

Ok let me choose this battle with Four's A Crowd ruleset as the reference. 33 Mana cap for four units should be interesting, because you can not bring in all monstrous units in your team.

I used the same health squad meta here, which all of my units have 6 health points. opportunity attack won't work against my team, and they have a unit there with an opportunity attack, Torch Vizier.

I think this battle will be heavily one sided, regarding they do not have magic attack, only rely on melee and my team are protected with extra 2 armor from protect ability that Nimbledook Explorer has. But be it, we are talking about negating opponent opportunity attack anyway.

Nobody died in the first round. Everything works as planned, for both sides. I still have my full team and so does he. However round two is the decisive one, which one lost or which one win will be decided here. This is a 4 units battle anyway, losing one unit is already a big lose.

I lost my tank here, but they lost two of their units. I think this is the end, because it is very hard to catch up the momentum if you lost a unit in Four's A Crowd ruleset. It's like a contest of who lose a unit first will lose the battle.

As predicted, this becomes a one sided for my team and we win it comfortably.

Honestly my opponent is not bad, it's just their meta is not suitable against mine. However one thing I learn from this battle, an existence of a new unit could bring a massive different0

I see Grove Doomblade might be the solution against my meta, which will negate the opportunity attack. Grove is like old card Sand Worm, which hit very hard into opponent backline. Maybe one day my meta won't work if more units like this Grove Doomblade are introduced later.

But that will be different story for the future. For current era, this is my meta for negating the opportunity attacks.

That's all for today post and See you in Splinterlands battlefields...

Hi.

I like "Tidal Tsunamist," a ninja with the "repair" ability because it does a lot of damage to the last enemy and restores the armor of one of his comrades.

Nice game, my friend. 😀
