No Pain No Gain, Hurt Yourself To Win

Howdy All, Especially You Splinterlands Summoners

I am having a hard Splinterlands day because I keep losing some battles. I lost an opportunity to rent some cheap cards regarding the End Of Season Maintenance, so I feel like part of my line up are gone and I am struggling to win as I use to do.

But I won't blame the maintenance , it happens to everyone. Let say I have prepared myself if this season things won't be as I have expected before. I have prepared for something worse than the last season.

So for today, I want to share a battle with you guys with a funny title...

Hurt Yourself To Win!

That sounds so kinky, doesn't it? It sounds like what Sado Masochist people do lol. But it is what it is, during the No Pain No Gain Ruleset, often we need to hurt ourself to win the battle. That modifier or ruleset give PAINFORGE abilities to all units, so hurting ourselves will buff up our units.

I think I do not need to talk long about it, let see our battle about it!

The Battle

This is the battle I choose for this topic, which it has the No Pain No Gain modifier. I think this is an interesting one because each of us here take different route.

  1. My opponent in general has better units, and not only better, they have higher level compared to my line up. However this is the interesting part, they come with their best line up without paying attention with the ruleset. I have seen this line up several times: Rage - Night Reaper - Arachne Weaver, a combination that is very hard to beat.
  2. Despite having less quality and less level units, my team tries to exploit all the modifiers given in this battle. I am not saying my move is smarter, it's just that I do not have proper line up this time, I have said that above.

I use Saltwraith Pirate to exploit the Shapeshift happens modifier. This unit will die first but his death will buff up all my units. I do not know whether this will end up as a smart move or a stupid move of wasting a spot in my line up.

Shock Tropper will be my main unit here. His electrified ability will keep on hurting his team mate, triggering the PAINFORGE effects. as the battle goes on, everyone will get stronger... but of course they are prune to be killed too due to taking damage in.

Now let see how this will go first during the Ambush Round:

  1. They have 6 melee damage, 1 range damage and 9 magic damage. Combined all, they become 16 damage per round.
  2. My team has 1 melee damage and 18 magic damage. So with 19 damage per round it shows that my team has more fire power.
  3. The biggest challenge I have in this battle is that all my units have decent to low health points. They are easily killed by Rage and Night Reaper attacks. So my team is like a Glass Cannon here, kill easily but easily breaks lol.

lets fast forward to round 2

The situation right now is 4 vs 4. My team hits harder than them however they have higher health point here. So both are still to win this battle, its a matter who get killed first.

When round 3 starts, we both are still on equal condition, 4 vs 4. However there is a big difference here. Electrified has wounded my units and all of them have got buffs. My team has got the speed superiority here, so they are no longer a vulnerable glass cannon, because they will shoot and kill their opponent first!

Round 4 is the last one. My team has 27 magic damage and they are hitting first. no chance for my opponent to withstand it. Good Game.

So there the key of my victory, hurting my own units lol. During No Pain No Gain, you need to dare yourself to bring units that capable hurting your team. Specifically it is about Electrified ability. Will hurting ourselves during this battle end up with a guaranteed win? The answer is no, and some battle I even end up losing stupidly. However in general, it is a solid move to increase your odds of winning!

That's for today splinterlands post, have fun with your battle!

@dewabrata,wow what a breathtaking battle. This situation is what I would call, smart strategy and card synergy can beat raw stats and summoner buffs.
I watched this battle thrice. So many game changing moments. The early death of your first monster, granting stats to all allied units. Secondly, the death and rebirth of Abyssal Elemental was a beauty to behold. And the painforge ability full utilitized at the beginning of each round, when electrified is being exhibited by shock trooper till end. The stacking of statistics by your remaining units was insane 😂.Great game, warrior 🤗.
