My dCity Journal - Calculate The Real Cost Not Based On The Gain

Greeting My Fellow dCity Major

It's been almost a month since my last dCity post. I haven't done anything siginificant during these days but It doesn't mean I haven't done any. For the last 4 weeks I keep buying some cards regularly, because I keep growing up my dCity accounts.

This is one of the example. 10 days ago I just bought 15 Barber shops and 5 basic homes. It was too put my Base income at my desired level and at that day, there was a person who dumped some Barber Shops below the market price.

However today I want to post something different, let say I get bored with updating my growth and some mambo jambo about it. So today I will share something different, just for refreshing.

What I share today is something I have thought for some days. When I talked about this game in the past, our aim in buying cards was about getting the cheapest one. But was it really the cheapest? Or cheapest by the number?

So let's review one of them here... THE EDUCATIONAL NFTs, because I have been aiming for them for weeks, their price are still high at the moment so I haven't bought some more. In the past I have mentioned them here:

https://inleo.io/@dewabrata/my-dcity-journal-preparation-to-push-education-99u

Education/Worker Ratio 0.41Education/Worker Ratio 0.55Education/Worker Ratio 0.71

That's the table I showed in that post, however today I will share something from other point of view. That time my point of view was like I already had some unemployed workers, and this time let say we see these 3 in a plain fair perspective.

Least Common Multiple (LCM)

Ok I know what pops into your head... OH SHIT MATH!!!.. yes a math, every good things about numbers are coming from doing proper math formula. To get fair with those 3, we need to get the LCM workers for them.

The first step is to get the prime factorization. 12 Prime number is 2 and 3. 14 Prime number is 2 and 7. 18 Prime number is 2 and 3. Then we takes the highest primes power which are 2x2 3x3 and 7, so we can calculate the least common multiple as 2x2 x 3x3 x 7 = 252 workers

So to be fair, we will need 252 workers.

With that current price, we can say we need 252 / 4 = 63 basic homes, and it will cost us 63 x 1625 $SIM = 102.375 $SIM. This is the basic cost based on the real cost which is out from the gain we seek, because we only seek the education points. Let say we ignore the popularity factor here, to simplify our math.

So How Many Educational Building can they afford

252:12 = 21 schools252:18 = 14 Research Centers252:14 = 18 Universities
Cost = 21 x 2298 = 48.258 $SIMCost = 14 x 2777 = 38.878 $SIMCost = 21 x 6197 = 130.137 $SIM
Total Cost 150.633 $SIM141.253 $SIM232.512 $SIM
Total Education 21 x 5 = 11014 x 10 = 14021 x 10 = 210
Edu/SIM 150k/110= 1.370$SIM141K/140 = 1.009 $SIM232k/210 = 1.108 $SIM

So there we have it, in order to push my Education point, Research Center is the cheapest, the second one is actually University and the difference to Research Center is no bigger than 10%.

Why do I use this formula?

Because in the past, University was actually the cheapest especially when they were sold at 4K. We need to use math formula because it is very deceitful.

In a glance you might think Scholl is the cheapest because they are sold at 2.298 $SIM.

Later you will think that you are a smart ass. Research center is sold at 2.777 $SIM and it has 10 Education. one education will cost you 277 $SIM. University seems the pricey one, it is sold at 6.197 $SIM and it has 10 Education, which means one education will cost you 620 $SIM. 277 vs 620, it feels like University is twice pricey than Research Center, right? But with these real cost formula, the gap is actually only 10% not twice!

So that's the message I try to send to you guys dCity players. Do not get tricked by numbers, they are tricky. Do the long way, make your formula in excell or google docs, it will save you massive $SIM in long run!

Some Quick Look

Whatever my dCity post is, I think I should share my map here. It has been working very well recently, all on balance.

My ranking is pretty much stable, and my Creativity is actually rising well because I breach in top 300.

So until I see someone selling NFT buildings cheap again, I might not do something significant... yet

and that's all folks. Thanks for your visit here.

Thank you for coming by and reading my post here. dCity is a city simulation game on Hive Blockchain. It works based on the second layer Non Fungible Tokens (NFT) on Hive-Engine. Those NFTS represents in-game assets, can be a building, a citizen, a park, a background and many more.
