How I Hate Captain Frankie
Good Day Summoners
Welcome to another of my Splinterlands Battle. I write Splinterlands contents every weekend and today is about one of the battle. In this opportunity I will share my thought about one of the Archon that I hate very deeply. He is Captain Frankie.

Captain Frankie is a very strong Archon in this game, and he is one of the most recent legendary archon introduced from the Conclave Arcana edition. Strong in term that he will give Inspire Ability to all units that share the same bloodline as him, the Awakened Beast. So during any battle which we have him as our Archon or our opponent archon, we could expect every melee unit become onepunch man wannabe.
He is great, so why do I hate him?

One simple answer, I can not play using him. There is no Captain Frankie available in Rental Market. Well there are some, but all are regular foil. I play using Gold Foil, so literally unless I want to step back and use the regular foil, there is no chance I could play using him.
So in a better word, this card is only for the thick wallet people and a very competitive one. When you see money and winning are equal, or maybe winning is more important, then you can get him. For casual players like me, Captain Frankie is absolutely a big no.
For that reason, I will take any battle that my opponent uses Captain Frankie as something personal... Something I have to give my best to win it, the same as this battle:
The Battle
I pick this battle because I win convincingly here. In most of my battle against Captain Frankie, I end up losing badly lol.
We do not have to talk long about how great Captain Frankie is, starting from the beginning, we know his team becomes lethal. Let see what happens during Ambush Stage...

This is how dangerous they are. Their main tank, Saltwraith Bulkhead has 11 melee damage. Tidal Tsunamist has 9 melee damage. Breen Paleswon deliver 7 melee damage. The last melee unit, Stritka, has 9 melee damage. Melee attack only would pile up to 36 damage per round, this is ridiculous and my team would be wiped out instantly if we have no armors and shield ability.
This is the danger of having Captain Frankie and my opponent has tried to maximize him by having all 6 units of Awakened Beast. In another word, they have 6 Inspire Abilities.
However I see some flaws in their line up. So let's see them one by one.
- Non Melee Unit
Captain Frankie is all about Melee team, so if you intend to have non melee units, you think to think them twice. It is not about must have melee units, but non melee units that are picked for the sake of INSPIRE ability, must be able to support the whole team.

They have two non melee unit and what I see only Meriput Slinger that is good for the team. Meriput Slinger will utilize his slow ability, and that is good for the team. The other one? I have a big question on her and I think Anash Soothsayer should be a better choice. Atleast Anash will heal the tank.
- Speed Superiority
Speed is very important for melee units. It is useless if you get killed first before delivering the hard killing blow. And it is useless if you hit hard like mike tyson or rocky, but all your punches get dodged.
On this term, I think they have failed. Their team are slower than me, so I have a good chance here.
- Tank and Survivability.
Other thank Saltwraith Bulkhead, their units have low health point. Well not that low but they really depend on their sole tank there. No heal no repair and anything. So if I could put down their tank, literally they could crumble badly.
This is another reason why I have said above that Saltwraith Corsair, the 4 health range unit, is a big wrong choice for this team. I believe it will be exposed soon during the battle.
So with those 3 flaws, I believe this time my team will bully the Captain Frankie team.
THE RESULT
This battle should be interseting, because I believe with those 3 flaws, I could win convincingly.

In the first round, we get the massive hint here. My team put down their only tank the Saltwraith Bulkhead. However this is not as simple as that, they put a taunt ability on my Commander Slade. Now everyone will attack him and I believe it's a matter of time before I lose Commander Slade.

My team is lucky, we manage to keep our Commander Slade at 1 health point. This means he will die in this round, but he will deliver his attack first. The second big hint is visible here, all their units are slower than mine.

When round 3 starts, we do not have to talk long anymore. 2 units vs 5 units, I can not see how they could do the remontada lol.

The battle ends in Round 4. I only lost my Commander Slade thanks to Reprisal ability from Saltwraith Corsair. I think I get the idea of having the Reprisal ability here, but it costs their team the momentum. Well nothing can be perfect anyway, good game.
So what do you think? Agree with my 3 points there that a Captain Frankie must be focused on Melee, have some good tanks, and do not lose the speed? feel free to have different opinions on this one and see you on Splinterlands Battles!

Frankie is a rich man's card, I ain't a rich man. Therefore, no Frankie for me either! lol
