Homemade Sukiyaki - Cheaper Than Any Restaurant

Hello Asean Hive Community

The Ramandhan month just ended last week, I could go back writing food posts as I used to before. Well nothing holds me back again, I am getting back to my usual writing theme now.

Today I am sharing you guys my sukiyaki dish which we made it our own in our kitchen. Usually people on Hive share this stuff on certain foodie community, which I have my own reasons why I do not post there:

  1. Foodie post is about our enthusiasm about our food, the dish that is presented in front of us. It is not about selfie with our food, nothing wrong with that, for some it is considered cool. But setting it as a standard of a foodie post, that's wrong.
  2. I believe HIVE is not about cooking recipe databank. I could spill and expose that many recipes which have been shared there are not original. They are just taken from cookpad, and some even writing recipes that they do not use there. lol, but what I can I do?
  3. I think those ladies there dislike me too lol. I posted there a few times years ago, not even a single vote came.

So yeah better I play with my food posts here.

This is my sukiyaki, or I should say this was my sukiyaki made a few weeks ago. Sukiyaki is basically a japanese stew dish and I believe it is a healthy comfort food. In japanese, they are called as Nabemonom where everything are slowly cooked or simmered on the table.

There is no fix rule what you should put in there. but in general people will go with sukiyaki cut beef, tofu and some vegetables including mushrooms. Mine there had a shirataki noodle. The soup was simple, water + sugar + soy sauce + mirin and cooking sake.

I had this raw egg as the dipping sauce. For some people this was a bad choice, they were not wrong. You needed to get a good egg from good source, else you got sick from salmonella contamination.

For alternate choice, you can go with half boiled egg or onsen egg. Actually onsen egg or onsen tamago is different from half boiled / cooked egg, but I see recently many take them as the same. so whatever lah, as long the taste can work well.

This was how I eat them. I had an extra warm white rice later, I usually took shirataki noodle and tofu as my appetizer. Then White rice would come, else I would hardly get full, and mostlikely ended up overeating lol.

Anyway shirataki noodle is good for you who are afraid of your sugar and fat level. However... their taste is lame, I do not understand why some Gen-Z says Shirataki is tasteful, are their tongue broken that they only value food from price?

Last... you can googling Sukiyaki Recipe, there are plenty from Cookbook and Cookpad. I do not want to join bad HIVE habit of taking recipe from others and claim as theirs...

Ok that's my short food post today. Thank you for reading my post here and See you next time!!

Thank you for coming and reading my post. I live in Jakarta, Ex-Capital City of Indonesia. I used to live by making money online, that's why I like being here, on HIVE, and in #PIMP - (Paper In My Pocket) community. Feel Free to leave any comment below

Home cooked is always the best! But I eat out more often than not because of time constraints. 😅
