Car Wheels Maintenance Will Never Be Cheap

For anyone who have cards, they should have already known that it would not come in cheap. I do not talk about the price, buying car itself is already expensive but it is not about buying it, it is more on supporting its maintenance.

Every car, the same as other equipment and tools, they will get deteriorate over time and usage. Somehow some people still think it is about getting the gasoline to make it able to run or some wash to make it look clean and neat.

Well it is not wrong in a very short time, but in a longer period we will have other requirement. For example what I share here, it is about tyre or wheel. They would not last forever, there are limitation of how long you could use them. By mileage or distance, most tyre could only last around 40.000 to 60.000 kilometers. That's about 40.000 miles if kilometers confuses you.

Even you try to not using your car too much, lol, for the sake of low mileage, you still need to replace them every four years. Because they are made from rubber, and it only can last for around 5 years. Those tyres did not come directly from the factory to your car, they wondered around from one storage to another, from factory to distributors, and finally ended up on your car.

Earlier this month I had to change two of my car tyres. Why did I only change two tyres? Because we need to change tyres in pair, left and right. You can not use only one good tyre in one of the side. Either both bad or both good, else you will have problem in controlling your car maneuver.

And the speed or the rate of the tyres deteriorate is different between the front tyres and the back tyres. It is depended on what kind of car you use, is it a front wheel drive or back wheel drive. Mine is a front wheel drive, that's why the front wheels or tyres will get ruined first.

This was the sign that my car tyre is over. The Tyre Threads was worn out, so it looked like the tyre had some skinscare treatment and had it surface so smooth lol. To be honest, I was lucky it did not blow up somewhere in the middle of my drives. This was a terrible condition and I postponed the tyres replacement several times due to no money available.

Those two tyres costed me 3.265.500 rupiah or around 193 USD. This was only for a couple, and I would need to replace another couple of tyres later in this year. Based on my experience in using this car, the time different between the front and back tyres replacement was around six to eight months.

And that would not be the biggest maintenance I would have this year. I still had to repair some part of the shock absorbers and front wheels arm soon, which definitely could cost me more than 300 USD. So in rough estimation, my car maintenance this year could exceed 1.000 USD.

I have this car and use it not because I am some rich guy. All my works need me to travel to several and various places, so having a car is kind of mandatory for the job. I could not use public transport because it would kill the time. That would only work if you only go from your house to your office and for the return. Maybe once a day you could travel to another place using it, for example to the bank or tax office, then return back.
