Gardening is Good for the Soul!
Today turned out to be a largely "screen free" day — thanks to a variety of circumstances — and I must admit that I feel better for it!

Because it was a bright and sunny spring day, Mrs. Denmarkguy and I talked about the possibility of doing some gardening, even though we both had a lot of "busy work" that needed attending to.
Then our son randomly showed up around 10:00am — unannounced, from Seattle, a couple of hours away — to pick up a package he had had sent here and then wanted to take us to breakfast... and we decided on a place that just happened to be most of the way to the organic nursery we like, so we figured we might as well go get some plants...
Which led to us really needing to clean out the raised beds in our vegetable garden and doing some soil conditioning before planting... and before you knew it, we'd managed to spend a good 6-7 hours gardening... and that was really a very welcome break from the general noise of the external world.

The only time we even touched our phones was to occasionally snap a photo of our progress.
I can't say that I missed being constantly plugged in.
Maybe Mrs. Denmarkguy and I are "of an age" where we remember a time before mobile devices and even Internet so unplugging is not as "weird" as it might be to somebody in their 20s... but, frankly, I could feel my general "background stress level" come down substantially.
Of course, I have a sketchy relationship with phones in the first place... because of so many years spent where the only reason the phone would ring would be either because it was a bill collector, or someone needing help with something.

As days go, today was a good one, and a poignant reminder of just how much time we spend with our noses pressed on glass!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week ahead!
