Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - The Nidhoggr Negativity

Hi there splinterbuds and HIVE-bees! Greetings! July is up to our calendar now and it only shows that this year already halved! Dang! So fast and i cant see even a tiny improvement from life! Aside from getting older maybe? lol. Anyhow I am here again to join the Splinterlands Social Media for this week. I am going to tell on how the summoner Nidhoggr posses some unfavorable characteristics for its team. How should i put this, If you will use Nidhoggr as your summoner, you will be forced to sacrifice a slot for the monster units forming its team and that is going to be a painful restriction when fighting.
The Summoner Nidhoggr

As I was saying, modern cards nowadays also posses self harming skills. See the boost and the characteristics of the Nidhoggr summoner? Well the combo's are good and favorable to the attacking type of monster units aside from the having the Force Reduction ability.

That force reduction is really a painful restriction of your team when being formed. Before I continue further, I would like to share a story on how did i ended using Nidhoggr for this season. As an experienced player of splinterlands, I formed a mentality of being observant and when will i play the game on much more favorable way of doing and of if it is fun. I am a renter player that can play up to higher leagues and also got numb on becoming a stepping stone for those who plays for the leaderboard position. lol. That's life and face the truth that money really matters even here in playing games. lol. So before i got sidetracked more, i ended up renting Nidhoggr because from the previous season, i ended up loosing all my rented cards and did not renewed because of resting due to sickness. So when i start renting for this season, card availabilities of the good cards are too little so to continue playing, i ended up renting the cards that I am not so familiar with and my rental budget can cope with. So there it is, Nidhoggr became a member of my grinding team for this season and i just hope i can gain back the rental budget so i will continue playing modern rank next season. I just returned playing modern last season and just started to experience modern rank grinding again.

I ended up my Modern Gold League ranking with a flying colors. :p.. that is not an easy ride to be honest for the modern rank players are really good ones. My highest rating for this season is around 3980 and ended it in 3860. So i guess i have enough boasting and will continue with my blog.
Continuing with Nidhoggr's Force Reduction ability, it really bothers me to use the said summoner with this ability is around. The impact of loosing a single slot to your team is really a great difficulty in gaining victory in this game. But anyways, Let us see what are the good traits that this summoner have. Nidhoggr got debuff ability for armor and health plus combination's of Execute plus Speed or the combination of Blast and Deathblow which is i used the most. Another thing that i dont like about this summoner is its 10 Mana cost upon using. Too much as i see it. So there it is. Of course this is a dragon splinter and most of the dragon monster units got good traits that can matched the said summoner and can even choose to pair with other splinters to form your team. It just really a headache, to me, that Mana cost and Force Reduction thing of this summoner.
Some Battle Sample
To see the effectiveness of this summoner as i experienced it, i will provide an example battle using Nidhoggr. It is a strong card in a way, so practice can help maybe.

I am fighting this battle with Silenced Archons in the ruleset! lol. So you see, With that in the ruleset, I am not going to think of a way to solved my missing slot of monster unit. The only thing to consider now is how to balanced my mana availability for my summoner already consumed a great part of it. That is a great weakness for a guy that don't have that much card varieties to choose from. Silenced summoner rulesets better played with less mana consumption summoners in my opinion. So with Nidhoggr as my summoner, i paired it with fire splinters and some neutrals. Grimbardun smith is in front with Rage in its back to gain a Magic attacking skill for Rage got Weapon's Training ability. Kelan Gaines was used, this card got a double strike ability that is really a great way boosting my offensive power, Ashen Cindergrim, Eleanor Bravefoot and Khazi FireConjurer completed my team. Healed Out is being part of the ruleset so i is also another reason why i chose Dragon Splinters is my main force.

This battle ended in round 3 with almost domination. Rage abilities always fascinates me albeit this card also consumes a large amount of mana upon summoning. Also Grimbardun Smith is another card that is a great fit to be sided with Weapons Training Ability.
- So playing splinterlands is not just about knowing your cards or form a good combination about them. You should also must become flexible to other varieties so that when time comes that you cant use your favorite cards, you can still perform better gameplay with other ones. Nidhoggr is still a good card for use, we just really need to know how to do it.
