Craziest Things So Far in 2025
You know sometimes life just shock you, you see things and you wonder “is this really happening?” 2025 has been one of those years full of strange, sad, and wild moments some in Nigeria, some all over the world.
One event that really hit me was the fuel tanker explosion in Suleja, Niger State. Around January, a tanker overturned, people came to collect spilled petrol, and then boom big explosion. Many died, many injured, houses burnt. It’s crazy how people risk their lives for few drops of fuel.
Also, floods in Mokwa, Niger State were terrible. I hear say more than 500 people have died, and hundreds missing, also thousands displaced. The town was underwater. When I saw pictures, I almost couldn’t believe. How can water take so much in few hours?
On a darker note, violence still haunt us. In Kwara State, gunmen attacked a mining site, killed police officers and kidnapped workers, including a foreigner. And in Borno State, a suicide bomber struck a food joint in a crowded area many died and many more injured.
Beyond Nigeria, the world also throw surprises. Political tensions, the climate disasters, unexplainable global crises it’s all part of 2025’s drama.
For me, living through these news, I feel small and heavy. I think of people losing family, homes, and futures. I also think how fragile life is. One moment you are okay, next moment things change.
Yet, these crazy events are so brutal but it also teach something. Many people are force to be grateful for small things: roof over head, food on plate, loved ones safe. They push me to be more caring, to help where I can, to pray more, to speak out.
2025 is not over yet. Who knows what else will come. But I hope we learn and grow, not just be shocked. May we find strength in the midst of chaos.
