Hola a todos y todas en esta comunidad. Vengo a hacer presencia para integrarme al colectivo de creadores que harán del mito un motivo para contextualizarlo según sus experiencias y percepciones personales.

Así lo haré yo.

El mito en que voy a apoyar mi escritura viene de las culturas andinas. Supongo que de las sagradas tierras del Perú: rico en tradiciones y fábulas que nos transmiten a través de todas sus formas de expresión.

        LA SERPIENTE Y EL SAPO

Cuando por lo menos se logra escuchar la versión original aunque sea en retazos, quizás pueda en principio quedarse en el nivel primario de la escucha, o sea, en lo que se nos cuenta por la inventiva y la imaginación de una fábula donde en un camino, cada vez que el Sapo un tremendo sapo y una Serpiente se encuentran. Estos establecen un combate a muerte por imponer uno al otro su imperio.

Y entonces uno se entera de como funciona aquella lucha. En la que la serpiente está decidida a por lo menos seguir su camino y el Sapo a Obstruir su propósito lanzando constantemente círculos de baba al reptil.

Si en su tarea, el Sapo logra embadurnar el cuerpo de la serpiente y la inmoviliza, esta muere y se pudre. Pero, si aquella logra atravesar los círculos de baba, y acabar con el intruso, entonces cambia de piel y se convierte en una hermosa serpiente alada.

Ese es el nivel imaginario de ese mito. Pero yo enseguida capte el nivel simbólico del cuento y sabiendo que nuestros ancestros no eran aquellos indios brutos y salvajes que pretendieron construir los conquistadores, entré en una segunda lectura y descubrí una profunda filosofía de vida y una identificación personal, done tomo el papel de la Serpiente y el Sapo es todo aquello que se opone a mi crecimiento personal.

Yo nunca había oído esa fábula y de no enterarme, quizás los símbolos me hubiesen funcionado al revés, dónde el pobre sapo sería la víctima y la estigmatizada serpiente la venenosa y abusadora causante de todos los problemas del sapo.

También escuché que en una famosa rueda de la iniciación, la serpiente representa el camino del Sur, o el camino del guerrero. Pero que a ese guerreo le estaba todo el tiempo prohibido el combate hacia afuera. Y me hice una pregunta que llevaba implícita la respuesta:

¿Si el combate no es hacia afuera, entonces hacia donde es? Y" me encuentro con la respuesta". Hacia dentro.

Una de las enseñanzas más luminosas del mito estás en que la serpiente no renuncia nunca a atravesar los círculos de baba, a riesgo de perecer, lo que deja claro que a los problemas no se le da la vuelta, porque te esperan a la otra vuelta del camino. Si no que se atraviesan para que haya crecimiento.

Pero algo más profundo te permite develar que los sapos más poderosos no están afuera. No son tus enemigos, tus vecinos, el clima, ni otra cosa. Si no, dentro: tus límites, las programaciones, tus Historias, e incluso, tus propios mitos.

Hace unos años, para tener un poco más presente el mito de la serpiente y el sapo, con mis propias manos, en una columna de la cerca perimetral de mi vivienda, esculpí la escena de esos dos eternos oponentes, como recordatorio permanente de ese combate interior.

Ya al otro día de instalarla, unos sapos de los de afuera aterrados con la presencia de aquella centinela, aprovechando la noche, la mutilaron, y casi la destrozan.

But I immediately grasped the symbolic level of the tale and knowing that our ancestors were not those brute and savage Indians that the conquistadors pretended to build, I went into a second reading and discovered a deep philosophy of life and a personal identification, where I take the role of the Serpent and the toad is everything that opposes my personal growth.

I had never heard that fable and if I had not heard it, maybe the symbols would have worked the other way around, where the poor toad would be the victim and the stigmatized snake the poisonous and abusive one causing all the toad's problems.

I also heard that in a famous wheel of initiation, the serpent represents the way of the South, or the way of the warrior. But that this warrior was forbidden to fight outward all the time. And I asked myself a question that implicitly carried the answer:

The next day after installing it, some toads from outside, terrified by the presence of that sentinel, taking advantage of the night, mutilated it and almost destroyed it.
