Weekend-Engagement #300: If you had to eat the same food for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next 300 days what would you choose and why?

To be honest, I had never really asked myself this question before, I mean, one thinks about what they would eat 2-3 times a week, always for a single meal, but if I had to eat the exact same thing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next 300 days, well, here it already gets more complicated… whatever you choose will definitely make you sick of it! After thinking seriously about it for a while, the answer came to me: salmon with grilled vegetables, like potatoes, zucchini, and peppers.
It’s a choice that, at first glance, might seem strange for an Italian, I mean, by classic stereotype I love pizza, pasta, and the idea of eating them three times a day for almost a year seems like a natural choice for any reader. But let’s think for a moment, three pizzas a day, or three plates of pasta a day, for 300 days would turn anyone into a whale with blood sugar through the roof, and try having breakfast with pasta and pizza all that time, then you wouldn’t get up from the table anymore, you’d literally take up residence there and I mean I wouldn’t want to be dead after these 300 days.
Salmon with vegetables, on the other hand, is a balanced solution. It tastes great, it’s not heavy, it contains proteins, fiber from the vegetables, and carbohydrates from the potatoes, so it's an "all-around" food, enough to give you energy without weighing you down. It’s something that, even though I abhor the idea of protein for breakfast cause I really can't eat meat, eggs and such, you can eat without feeling too heavy in your stomach, and it's perfect for lunch and dinner.
In the end, the choice is not just about taste or the dish I like the most but also has to be evaluated from a nutritional point of view… if someone chose a McDonald’s McMenu, you’d be dead after 300 days!

Oh no! I couldn't eat fish. It's far too stinky.
